To. If a Shravaka thinks like this: Although the conduct of a Bodhisattva is not explicitly explained in the Shravaka Vehicle, it is explained in other ways with other letters and words. Therefore, there is also Mahayana within the Shravaka Vehicle, and the Shravaka Vehicle itself is Mahayana. To refute this idea, it is said, "Not shown now." Just as the Dharma explained in the Mahayana, such as the ten Bhumis and Paramitas, does not appear even a little in the Shravaka Vehicle, so the Shravaka Vehicle is not the Dharma of the Mahayana, that is its meaning. "Disgust" means observing the impermanence, suffering, emptiness, and selflessness of the Truth of Suffering, thereby generating disgust. "Detachment from desire" means observing the origin, cause, condition, and arising of the Truth of Origin, thereby abandoning all afflictions. "Liberation" means cultivating the Truth of the Path, thereby directly realizing the Truth of Cessation, which is liberation. "Combining the interests of others with one's own is only for one's own interests" means that some Shravakas teach others the Dharma that brings their own benefit, namely disgust, detachment from desire, and liberation, and say that if one practices in this way, one can perfect one's own interests, which is only for one's own interests. If the person who listens to the Dharma also only cultivates to attain Nirvana for himself, and cannot attain the Unsurpassed Bodhi for the benefit of sentient beings, then the Shravaka Vehicle contradicts the Mahayana, that is its meaning. "How to combine is shown here in other ways" means that the Shravakas think like this: The Dharma of the Mahayana, these Dharmas that a Bodhisattva should practice, although not directly explained in the Shravaka Vehicle, are shown through other scriptures with other names and words, so there is also Mahayana in the Shravaka Vehicle. "No such teaching is found here" means that in the Hinayana, not even a little teaching about the Dharma of the Mahayana, such as the Bhumis and Paramitas, is found.

Since it does not appear, the Hearer Vehicle is not a Dharma of the Great Vehicle, that is its meaning. The Hearer Vehicle and the Great Vehicle contradict each other, so it is called "Verses of Disagreement." What is the meaning of the contradiction in what was said above, "because of incompleteness and contradiction"? The cause and effect of the Hearer Vehicle are different, and the cause and effect of the Great Vehicle are also different. Because of the internal disagreement, it is shown in verses. "Aspiration and teaching, Practice and donor, Time is also extremely contradictory, Whatever is small is small." This refers to the fact that the Great Vehicle and the Small Vehicle contradict each other internally in five ways. What are the five? Contradictory aspiration, contradictory teaching, contradictory practice, contradictory donor, and contradictory time. These five contradictions make the Hearer Vehicle small. Therefore, it is called the Small Vehicle, not the Great Vehicle. Among them, the Great Vehicle thinks of liberating oneself and others from suffering, while the Hearer Vehicle thinks of completely liberating oneself from suffering, so the aspiration is contradictory. The Great Vehicle's scriptures teach the Dharma of benefiting oneself and others, while the Hearer Vehicle's scriptures teach the Dharma of benefiting oneself, so the teaching is contradictory. Bodhisattvas who enter the Great Vehicle practice both self-benefit and other-benefit, while people who enter the Hearer Vehicle only practice self-benefit, so the practice is contradictory. The wisdom accumulation of Bodhisattvas is as pervasive as the realm of space, while the merit accumulation is thought of as the water of the four oceans. Hearers only understand the selflessness of persons, so the wisdom accumulation is as small as a mustard seed, like the space inside a worm-eaten object, and giving a handful of food, the merit accumulation is thought of as the water in a cow's hoofprint, so the donor is contradictory. Those who enter the Great Vehicle need three countless eons to attain unsurpassed Bodhi, while Hearers only need about three lifetimes to attain the fruit of Arhat, so the time is contradictory. Therefore, the Great Vehicle...
