Transform! If those of middling wisdom cultivate, they will transform into Pratyekabuddhas. If those of small wisdom cultivate, they will transform into Shravakas. In response to saying, "There is only one vehicle, not three vehicles," it is said, "There is not" and "There is not." If the Mahayana does not exist, then the Shravaka vehicle will also become non-existent. Why? Because if there is no path to achieve Buddhahood—the Mahayana—there is no achievement of Buddhahood. If Buddhahood is not achieved, then the Hinayana will not be taught either, so this Hinayana that appears in this way will also not be the words of the Buddha. If the Shravakas think, "Whatever words are cultivated that become an antidote to afflictions, that is the Buddha's teaching, like the Shravaka vehicle. Even if the Mahayana is cultivated, it will not become an antidote to afflictions, so it is not the Buddha's teaching." In response to this, it is said, "Antidote, etc." If the Mahayana is cultivated, it will become the basis for the arising of non-conceptual wisdom. If non-conceptual wisdom arises, it will become an antidote to abandoning afflictions, so it is evident that it is the Buddha's teaching. If the Shravakas think, "In the Buddha's teachings, it is taught that the skandhas and other dharmas exist, but in the Prajnaparamita and others, it is taught that everything is non-existent, so it is not the Buddha's teaching." In response to this, it is said, "Because of other words." When the Bhagavan said "non-existent" in the Prajnaparamita and others, that was not the literal meaning, but considering that the imputed nature that children grasp and cling to is non-existent, he said "non-existent." The nature of other-powered and perfectly established is not non-existent. Therefore, it is not reasonable to say that it is not the Buddha's teaching by grasping it in a literal way. Such profound conduct is not the realm of logicians, that is to say, such profound conduct of Bodhisattvas like the earth and the Paramitas, even if explained to logicians and non-Buddhists, they will not understand, let alone become the realm of their realization? It is impossible for it to become the realm of their realization, that is the meaning. Non-Buddhist

The statement "such a thing does not occur even in the treatises of those who possess" means that even in the treatises of the non-Buddhists, there is not even a little bit of earth, pāramitā, unborn, and unarisen dharmas, so it cannot be said that it was made by the non-Buddhists. The statement "even if it is said, there is no faith" means that even if the meaning of unborn and selflessness, etc., is explained, there is no initial faith, because it is contrary to it, so it is not reasonable to say that it was made by them. These teachings of the Dharma Pāramitā are believed by the noble monks. Others, after hearing the teachings of the pāramitās, etc., from the assemblies of the noble Inexhaustible Intelligence, Ocean Intelligence, Jewel Cloud, and Excellent Power, etc., those who are intelligent think that those dharmas were made by the non-Buddhists. If you do not understand the statement "because it was not prophesied before," it is not permissible to be indifferent to saying "the Blessed One did not prophesy," therefore, a verse was spoken. The so-called Dharma of the Great Vehicle is the Holy Dharma. Because it was not prophesied before, it is not the word of the Buddha. Although the Great Vehicle is not the word of the Buddha, it was not prophesied for three reasons. What are the three? The Tathāgatas teach the Holy Dharma and are devoted to the benefit of sentient beings. Because they did not see the fear of the teachings disappearing, they did not prophesy. Because they did not pay special attention to protecting the teachings, they did not prophesy. Because wisdom only involves past and present things, but not future things, it is said that they did not prophesy. Regarding the fear of the teachings disappearing in the future, etc., it is not permissible to be indifferent to not prophesying, and from this, a verse was spoken: "The Buddhas are manifest eyes." It means that the Tathāgatas do not need to think and strive, and they know all dharmas clearly, like placing an āmalaka fruit in the palm of their hand, so it is not permissible to be indifferent to the fear that the teachings will appear in the future. Why? Because they possess the eye of flesh, the eye of miraculous power, and the eye of wisdom.
