It is called "ground," and when one enters the realm of the uncontaminated, one obtains the equality of body, speech, and mind with all Buddhas, hence it is called becoming equality. At that time, having abandoned the obscurations of afflictions and knowledge, it is called immaculate. The liberated bodies of Hearers, Solitary Buddhas, and Solitary Buddhas are not different or distinct, hence it is called the same. With five kinds of distinctions, Hearers are superior because of purification, hence it is called becoming distinct. The five distinctions are: the distinction of extreme purity, the distinction of complete purity, the distinction of the Dharma body, the distinction of enjoyment, and the distinction of activity. When all afflictions are abandoned, the Dharma realm does not diminish, hence it is called undiminishing. When the aspect of purification arises, there is no arising in the Dharma realm, hence it is called non-additional, meaning that the uncontaminated realm is of such a nature. Or, when it becomes equality, the object to be focused on and the one who focuses become equal, because all phenomena of grasping and being grasped are realized as empty. Having purified the afflictions together with their imprints, it is called the distinction of extreme purity. Extreme purity is surpassed by Hearers, because even the subtle imprints have not been abandoned by the noble Hearers, therefore, even though they have attained Arhatship, they still do things like monkeys jumping, or if they were prostitutes before, they would still look at their faces in the bowl even when they have attained Arhatship later. The Tathagatas have abandoned even the subtlest imprints of afflictions, therefore they are superior in extreme purity. Having purified the Buddha-field, it is called the distinctions of complete purity. Hearers have not purified the Buddha-field, therefore they cannot show the ground as if it were crystal and vaidurya, etc. The Tathagatas have purified the Buddha-field, therefore they can show it as if it were crystal and vaidurya, etc., therefore they are superior in complete purity. The distinction of the Dharma body, Hearers have not realized the selflessness of phenomena, therefore they only have the liberated body, but not the Dharma body. The Tathagata
