It is said, "The two are not there." This means that in Suchness, the grasper and the grasped are non-dual. Or, when all discordant aspects are eliminated, separated from all elaborations, and the non-conceptual wisdom is attained, one sees that phenomena such as form, which are completely conceived by children, do not exist. Therefore, it is said that its entity does not exist. "The entity is not a non-entity in that place." In this statement, the word "entity" refers to other-powered nature. For other-powered nature, the appearance as grasper and grasped is merely an illusion, but it is not non-existent, so it is called "not a non-entity." "A non-entity is not the entity itself." In this statement, that which appears as the grasper and is merely an illusion does not exist as the nature of the grasper and grasped, so it is called "non-entity." Thus, because the entity does not exist, the two, grasper and grasped, do not exist in the entity itself. This is not established. "Entity and non-entity have no difference; this is said of form and so on." In this statement, since it is merely an appearance and the nature does not exist, the entity and non-entity of form and so on have no difference and are said to be of one meaning. How is it? That which exists merely as a conventional entity is itself without nature in the ultimate sense; and that which is without nature in the ultimate sense is also merely established as an existing entity in the conventional sense, so entity and non-entity are of one meaning. Whatever appears to exist as two is itself without two. Appearing as two is the unreal conceptualization, because the grasper and grasped have been abandoned. For the unreal conceptualization, when one knows the nature of mind and mental factors that are separate from the two, name and form, at that time, one transforms from grasping at two and becomes merely the appearance of non-dual mind and mental factors. Thus, whatever appears to exist as two is called without two. Why is it that saying it exists only as one is also a nihilistic view, saying it does not exist only as one is also a nihilistic view, and why is it said that the two have no difference? Therefore, it is held in order to refute the extremes of superimposition and denial. It is also in order to refute the conduct of the Lesser Vehicle.

Therefore, it is just that. It is said that saying that existence and non-existence are cut off as one, and saying that there is no difference, is said for the sake of refuting the three aspects in order. It is to prevent the extreme of addition, the extreme of slander, and the emergence of the Lesser Vehicle at a young age. At that time, in the stage of patience in the stage of aspiration and practice, it is only that consciousness appears as two aspects, and it is understood that there is no external meaning other than consciousness. At that time, knowing that there is no object as no object, the extreme of non-addition is prevented. In the stage of aspiration and practice, in the stage of warmth and peak, it is understood that the two, the grasped and the grasper, exist only as illusory appearances, so the conventional object is known only as conventional, so the extreme of slander is prevented by saying that it does not exist. Knowing that there is no difference between existence and non-existence, one does not enter the Nirvana of the Hearers. Therefore, the emergence of the Hearer Vehicle is prevented. How is it? The Hearers and others conceive of form and other objects as existing, and through that door they are afraid of suffering. Through meditating on the aspects of birth and death, they become disgusted. Being disgusted, they become detached from desire. Then they emerge from samsara and enter Nirvana. Bodhisattvas and others, on the other hand, understand that whatever is said to be merely appearing as two aspects from the characteristic of other empowerment, other than consciousness, all imputed dharmas such as form do not exist. Whatever is said to be non-existent in the characteristic of imputation, they understand that it is only an illusory appearance in the conventional, so there is no aversion to samsara. If one is not averse to samsara, then one will not quickly strive and enter Nirvana in the manner of extinguishing a fire on the top of one's head like the Hearers. Therefore, knowing that there is no difference between the two is the ground for preventing the emergence of the Hearer Vehicle. The cause of error is error, one wishes to know the aspect of form, to know the aspect of formlessness. As it is said, the consciousness of children is to enter into two aspects, namely the cause of error and error. Among them, the cause of error is
