On its own, it shows wisdom as the nature of the path to enlightenment. This is a brief explanation. The Dharma spoken here also generates supreme joy. The term "Dharma" refers to the five things to be accomplished, etc. These five Dharmas are explained without error by this treatise, the Ornament of the Sutras, so through hearing it, the wise will generate supreme joy. Above, it was said that those who understand the meaning adorn the sutras with immaculate words and roots, not with earrings and armlets, etc. This transcends debate. Like this, how can the Dharma, which is inherently endowed with qualities, be adorned? It is said to answer this debate. As mentioned above, the nature of the ground and the perfections, the Dharma of the Great Vehicle, which is not common to the Hearers and Solitary Buddhas, etc., is inherently good in the beginning, good in the middle, and good in the end. The language is beautiful, the words are beautiful, completely perfect, completely pure. How can the Dharma, which is endowed with qualities, be adorned? What is the need to adorn it? Just as sweet rock candy, whether coated with sweet molasses or not, is sweet, so there is no need to coat it with molasses. To refute this statement, the third verse is composed: Forms with ornaments and naturally good qualities, Entering into a mirror, By the power of seeing, people also generate supreme joy. It means that for the naturally good and beautiful form of the body, adorned with various ornaments such as jewels, and looking in a mirror, seeing the beautiful image of the face, together with the ornaments, looking in the mirror, seeing the beautiful image of the face entering the mirror, by the power of seeing, people will generate special joy due to delight. This is a metaphor. The meaning that corresponds to this metaphor is: Likewise, the Dharma is also said to be good, those who are naturally endowed with qualities, By good discrimination, the wise always generate supreme joy. Like this, the Dharma of the Great Vehicle, the nature of the ground and the perfections, is also good in the beginning, good in the middle, and good in the end, so it should be done as the good Dharma that is spoken of. The meaning is beautiful, the words are beautiful, completely

It is extremely white and completely pure, therefore it is said to possess the qualities of its own nature. Likewise, that which possesses the qualities of its own nature, like treatises such as the Ornament for Clear Realization, which explain and differentiate the words and meanings of the sutras, enters into a state like the center of a stainless mirror. If the meaning can be seen from within the explanation, then wise and intelligent people will experience supreme joy, that is the meaning. What does this show? The phrase "What does this show?" is a concluding word that asks what this verse with its example shows. After that, three verses are used to create an impression on that Dharma, and therefore show three kinds of excellence. Above, it was said that the Dharma of the Great Vehicle possesses the qualities of its own nature. If asked, how do you know it has qualities? In response, three verses are combined with three examples to show that the Dharma of the Great Vehicle has three kinds of excellence and qualities. The three qualities are: the cause for abandoning obscurations, the cause for perfect endowments, and the cause for enjoying the wealth of the noble ones. Just as when smelled, it is extremely foul, and when tasted, it is like a sweet medicine, the Dharma is also established in two ways, it should be known in meaning and in letters. This is called the first example. In this regard, there are some kinds of medicine that are like this: when smelled with the nose, the nose is irritated by the foul smell, it does not feel comfortable, and a feeling of aversion arises. The same kind of medicine, when placed on the tongue and tasted with the tongue, because of its perfect taste, makes the tongue feel comfortable and happy, and a feeling of inclination arises. Then, gradually going down from the throat and entering the body, when it is digested, it eliminates all the diseases in the body caused by bile, phlegm, and wind. Similarly, this Dharma of the Great Vehicle is also established in two ways: established as letters and established as meaning. Among them, letters should be understood like the foul smell of medicine. Meaning should be understood like the sweet taste of medicine. Letters should be understood like the foul smell of medicine, which means:
