There are three types of individuals: the ignorant, the doubtful, and those who are attached to inverted appearances. Among them, the ignorant are those who do not comprehend the meaning and words of the Great Vehicle. The doubtful are those who have dualistic thoughts regarding the sutras such as the Prajnaparamita, wondering, "Are these the Great Vehicle? Or are they not?" Those who are attached to inverted appearances are those who believe that this Great Vehicle is not the Great Vehicle, but rather hold that the Hearer's Vehicle is the Great Vehicle. Therefore, for those who are attached to inverted appearances and those who are doubtful, in order to eliminate their inverted attachments and doubts, this Dharma of the Great Vehicle should be proven. How should it be proven? It should be proven by stating, "This is the Great Vehicle, and others are not the Great Vehicle." An example similar to this is "like hammered gold," which should be understood in the same way as previously explained. For the ignorant, it should be pointed out, "The meaning, words, and characteristics of the Great Vehicle are like this," so that they may understand the characteristics of the Great Vehicle. An example similar to this is "like a blooming lotus." For example, just as seeing a lotus that blooms under the sunlight without great effort gives rise to supreme joy, so too, when the Great Vehicle is taught to the ignorant, and they become separated from ignorance and come to understand the Great Vehicle, they will experience supreme joy. Thus, for those who are attached to inverted appearances and those who are doubtful, the Great Vehicle should be proven; and for the ignorant who do not understand the Great Vehicle, they should be made to understand by teaching the Great Vehicle. These three types of individuals should now do this: they should contemplate the aggregates, elements, sense bases, and other places that should be contemplated. Contemplation of the inconceivable places should be abandoned. So, what are the inconceivable places? There are four, as stated in the sutra: The activity of the Buddhas' deeds is inconceivable, the activity of external objects accomplishing various forms is inconceivable, the combination of jewels, mantras, medicines, and embracing sexual union, and the activity of perfect possession are inconceivable, and the yogic conduct of yogis.

It is like saying, "The realm is inconceivable." If one contemplates those inconceivable realms, one's mind will become disturbed and intoxicated. Therefore, those realms are said to be inconceivable. Thus, inconceivable realms should be abandoned. If one contemplates conceivable realms, great joy will arise. An example that is in accordance with this is like a person tormented by hunger eating delicious food, or like hearing a pleasant letter. Just as a hungry person eating delicious food will give rise to great joy, similarly, contemplating conceivable realms with proper attention will give rise to great joy. Just as with a good letter, abandoning wrong understanding and understanding it correctly will give rise to great joy, similarly, with inconceivable realms, abandoning contemplation will also give rise to great joy. Therefore, those individuals should abandon inconceivable realms. Regarding inconceivable realms, if one contemplates them and enters them correctly without error, one will be able to realize the meaning of complete perfection and understanding with one's own wisdom, and realize the Dharma of the aspects of enlightenment. An example similar to this is like opening a treasure chest. For example, opening a treasure chest and seeing jewels will give rise to great joy. Similarly, with the aspects of enlightenment as an antidote, if one eliminates the obscurations of knowledge and afflictions that are contrary to the Mahayana Dharma and the Paramitas, the aspects of enlightenment will appear in the mind, and therefore great joy will arise. Thus, this is an explanation of the differentiation of individuals. Thus, in relation to beings who are easy to tame, the five Dharmas such as practice are taught. Among them, the meaning of selflessness and so on should be practiced. The nature of mind and mental factors, which are included in dependent origination, should be known. Regarding dependent origination itself, it should be contemplated in ways such as abandoning non-virtuous Dharmas and cultivating virtuous Dharmas. The deeds of the Buddha, the altruistic activities of accomplishing deeds, and so on, are said to be inconceivable. Non-conceptual wisdom is the meaning of individual complete accomplishment and understanding.
