Having become purified from the defilement of grasping and being grasped, if one attains pure emptiness, it is called attaining the supreme of selflessness. In order to show that meaning, it is said, "The Buddhas, having attained the pure self, become the self of the great self." In the realm of the uncontaminated, having attained completely pure emptiness, the Buddhas attain the supreme of selflessness, and at that time, the Buddhas become the self of the great self. Like this, because they become the self of the great self, they are established as the supreme of self in the realm of the uncontaminated, and this shows the characteristic of the supreme of self. Because it is the self-nature of the incomparable supreme of self, it is said that the selflessness of the person and the selflessness of phenomena are the supreme Dharma of selflessness. That is also when one becomes purified from the defilement of grasping and being grasped, it is established as the meaning of the supreme of selflessness. That is also the meaning that in the sense of essence, it is the self of the Buddhas. The word "self" in "The supreme of self attains selflessness" is used here in the sense of essence, and the Buddhas become the essence of selflessness, therefore it is the meaning of attaining the supreme of self. That is completely pure, therefore the supreme of the self of selflessness is pure, and the Buddhas will attain it. Regarding this, in the realm of the uncontaminated, the two selflessnesses completely become the self-nature, and the Buddhas become like that, therefore the supreme of the self of selflessness is pure, and the Buddhas will attain it, that is the meaning. Now, in order to show that there is no prediction for the question, "Will the Buddha arise after death? Will the Buddha not arise after death?", it is said, "Not existent, not non-existent," and so on, the three verses. Among them, from the realm of the uncontaminated, the Buddhas are neither existent nor non-existent. Why? Because the Buddha is the Dharmakaya, and the Dharmakaya is emptiness, so in emptiness there is neither the existent person of complete imputation nor the existent phenomena of complete imputation, therefore it is not existent. The perfectly established nature is not existent, the completely imputed

Because the Dharma and the individual are non-existent like a rabbit's horn, it is not considered to exist at that time. It is also not without things, because it exists at the time of the nature of perfect reality. Therefore, it is called Buddha. As mentioned above, the Buddha is neither an existing thing nor a non-existing thing. Therefore, inquire about the Buddha in this way, and it should be understood as a way of not answering. Like this, since the Buddha is neither existent nor non-existent, will the Buddha arise after death? Asking whether the Buddha will not arise after death? For the Buddha will arise after death, and the Buddha will not arise after death, it should be understood as a way of not answering. If you ask why, the Buddha will not arise after death, because it does not arise in the nature of the self and Dharma that are completely imputed. The Buddha will also not arise after death, because it arises in the nature of perfect reality. This shows the nature of the afflictions that are not answered. Just as the eye has a cataract, and the heat of iron subsides. For the Buddha's mind and wisdom, one does not say existence or non-existence. For example, if the eye has a cataract, one does not say it exists, nor does one say it does not exist. If you ask why one does not say it exists, it is because the subsidence, non-existence, and extinction of the cataract are not the substance of the cataract. For example, if one is free from the fever of the plague, at the time of separation, the burning sensation that makes the legs and feet ache is not present at that time. It is also said to be non-existent, because the purity of the eye exists, so the function of the eye is to see form. If it were completely non-existent at that time, then like a cataract, the eye would also be non-existent, so the function of the eye, such as seeing form, could not be performed. This is also like the healing of the plague, the healing of the plague is without the fever of the plague, but the comfort of the body free from fever is present. Similarly, the heat of iron subsides, one does not say it exists, nor does one say it does not exist. Why say it exists?
