It shows the characteristic of being completely pure through action. Previously, it was the nature of complete affliction, but later, through cultivating the path, becoming without impurity is called purity. The former is the time of ordinary beings, and the latter is the time of manifest enlightenment. The Dharmakaya of the Buddha is considered to be the nature of suchness and emptiness. Emptiness, even in the time of ordinary beings, is emptiness and the nature of self-luminous nature. The latter, that is, at the time of manifest enlightenment, is also the nature of emptiness and self-luminous nature, so there is no difference in the nature of purity, because there is nothing to be purified, so there is no purity. However, at the time of manifest and complete enlightenment, by the power of cultivating the path, the adventitious impurities of the afflictive obscurations and the cognitive obscurations are eliminated, and later it becomes pure, so it is not impure either, that is its meaning. The second verse shows that in the uncontaminated realm of reality, the Buddhas are the supreme of self. Why are they the supreme of self? Therefore, it is said, "Because the supreme of selflessness is attained." The supreme of selflessness is the selflessness of persons and the selflessness of phenomena. In the uncontaminated realm of reality, the Buddhas are the essence and nature of the supreme of the two selflessnesses, so they are established as the supreme of self. Here, the word "self" is sometimes used to refer to the self-entity imagined by non-Buddhists, such as self, sentient beings, and life. Sometimes the word "self" is also used to refer to the nature of Dharma, such as fire is the characteristic of warmth, meaning the nature of warmth. If it is said that earth is the self-entity of hardness, it means the nature of hardness. Here, the word "self" is extended to mean nature, and the Buddhas have become the nature of selflessness, so it is said that they have attained the supreme of self. So what is the supreme of selflessness? Therefore, it is said, "Emptiness is completely pure," when the emptiness of the selflessness of persons and the emptiness of the non-substantiality of phenomena
