Because it has passed. The so-called "manifestation by expression is called manifestation" is thus expressing the uncontaminated Dharma manifestly. The so-called "that is the Śamatha and Vipaśyanā that focuses on the mixed Dharma" is the Śamatha and Vipaśyanā that focuses on the condensed Dharma. In order to distinguish the Śamatha and Vipaśyanā that focus on the mixed Dharma as small, large, and immeasurable, the Blessed One is asked whether it can also be said that Śamatha and Vipaśyanā are focused on the small Dharma among the mixed Dharma, etc. Maitreya Bodhisattva said from the Sutra Pitaka, etc., which is to show this: No matter what Dharma is received from the Sutra Pitaka, etc., the beginning, middle, and end of them are summarized into one. The Śamatha and Vipaśyanā that are mindful in this way should be known as focusing on the small Dharma among the mixed Dharma, because it is not focused on all Dharmas. The Sutra Pitaka, etc., are received as much as possible, etc., which means that all the Sutra Pitaka, etc., are individually summarized into one. Mindfulness is the Śamatha and Vipaśyanā that focuses on the large Dharma among the mixed Dharma, because it is focused on all the Dharmas of the Sutra Pitaka, etc. The immeasurable Dharmas taught by the Tathāgatas, etc., are to show this: The Tathāgata's teachings, for all objects, for all times, and for the minds of all beings to be tamed, can be truly satisfied, so no matter which aspect is entered, it is immeasurable. The words and letters of the Dharma are immeasurable, and the wisdom and fearlessness from high to high are also the same. The so-called "summarizing into one" is to make the Śamatha and Vipaśyanā, which makes it of one taste, with the Dharma nature of all Dharmas, the self-nature of no object. It should be known that it focuses on the immeasurable Dharma among the mixed Dharma, which is a summary statement. Blessed One, how much does a Bodhisattva, etc., ask for the cause of obtaining it. Maitreya Bodhisattva said that it should be known that it is obtained through five causes, etc., which is to show the cause of obtaining it.

Oṃ. When applying the mind, in an instant, it destroys all the bases of bad states. Bad states are of two kinds: bad states of afflictions such as desire, and bad states of afflictions in the form of views. Their basis is the ālaya-vijñāna. Because śamatha and vipaśyanā, which focus on familiar dharmas, are the antidotes to those two bad states, they destroy their place. Having completely abandoned various perceptions, obtaining joy in the dharma, this is because of being separated from the obscurations of bad states. Therefore, with body and mind extremely subdued, one obtains joy in the dharma that is separated from various perceptions. Knowing that the appearance of dharmas is immeasurable in the ten directions and that the forms are completely and perfectly complete, this is because one has touched the immeasurable dharmas very well. The unexamined signs that possess the complete accomplishment of needs and are in accordance with the aspect of purity arise in that, because the views of the aspects of persons and dharmas are completely pure. Omniscience is the cause of accomplishing the complete benefit of oneself and others, so it is the complete accomplishment of needs. Its aspect is realization, and the unexamined signs that are in accordance with it arise from one's own and others. In order to obtain, perfect, and accomplish the dharmakāya, one truly and completely holds on to what is more superior than the previous and more excellent than the good. The first bhūmi is the realization of the dharmakāya. The third bhūmi is attainment. The tenth bhūmi is perfection. The bhūmi of the Tathāgata is accomplishment, because it is the ultimate. The cause is the definite arising from meditating on the bhūmis and pāramitās. What is more superior than the previous and more excellent than the good means that attainment is more than realization, perfection is more than attainment, and accomplishment is more than perfection, which is more superior than the previous and more excellent than the good. Again, in order to ask about the difference between those two, one asked the Blessed One how, etc. Realization and
