Those who are naturally pure are defiled by adventitious defilements. Separation from them is complete purification. Similarly, the element of dharma, which is naturally pure, is also defiled by adventitious defilements. Separation from them is complete purification. If countless Buddhas were to appear and eliminate the defilements of countless beings, and in beginningless samsara, each Buddha would separate countless beings from samsara and place them in nirvana, then how could samsara not be exhausted and nirvana not increase? The answer to this question is that there is no decrease and no special excellence, because the realm of beings and the aspect of purification are immeasurable. A container with a limit will decrease or be exhausted. For the previous immeasurable realm of beings, if decrease does not appear, then exhaustion will appear later, like the sky. Since purification is also immeasurable, there is no special excellence, so how can it increase? It is like the sky being free from obscuration and the arising of obscuration. The two establishments of the body are to be connected with the words of the vajra. What is confused with what, from what does it arise? What is not confused, what does it rely on? Confusion and non-confusion are the very fruit, the end of that. This means that the vajra words show the object of confusion, the nature of confusion itself, the cause of confusion, the result of confusion, and the ultimate result of confusion. Similarly, it also shows the nature of non-confusion, the object of non-confusion, the result of non-confusion, and its ultimate end. Among them, what is confused is with existence and non-existence. This means that the meaning of letters, the nature of existence and non-existence, the speaker and the spoken, and their relationship are all completely imputed to the nature of things. What is confused is that inversion is confusion, because it does not exist in oneself, but appears as the aspect of duality. What arises from confusion arises from the place.

It is said that the place is the nature of the Alaya-vijñana, the mind that is completely conceived by discrimination. What is non-erroneous? Like illusion and so on, not turning away from the existence and non-existence of things is non-erroneous. Manifestly clinging to things and non-things, non-erroneous is also the antidote to error. That is just like illusion, and it is shown in order as non-conceptual. What is 'where'? Where is the mind not mistaken? That is also the self-luminous nature, the characteristic of the perfectly established essence. The result of error and non-error, for that, the result of error is complete defilement, which is the remainder of the words 'corresponding to the cause of error'. The non-error corresponding to the cause of non-error is: for the sake of the result of non-error, the result of non-error is complete purification, which is the remainder of the words 'together with being equal'. By saying the word 'nature', it is said that its result is complete defilement and complete purification. Like the sky, it explains what the Dharmadhatu is mistaken by, and the results of non-error, those are the nature of complete defilement and complete purification, but that is not its nature. Those two are the extremes, some say that the extremes of complete defilement and complete purification are Nirvana, which is said to be without ultimate end because there is no decrease and no increase. Others say that Samsara is immeasurable, without decrease, possessing no decrease, is the extreme of complete defilement. Nirvana is immeasurable, because there is no increase, possessing no special excellence, is a synonym for complete purification. These ten Vajra words are spoken in the context of non-inversion, and do not arise from the essence. Therefore, existence and non-existence are not inverted, place and like illusion, non-conceptual and by nature, constant luminosity, complete defilement and complete purification, and like the sky, decrease and no increase, the Vajra words are ten.

It is called "U." These two verses, called "U," summarize the above content. Regarding this, the inverted view of considering the sound and meaning of complete establishment as related, the inverted view of seeing things as they appear as their essence, the inverted view of the cause of the occurrence of things, the inverted view of adding fiction or slander to things, the inverted view of considering names as the essence of things, the inverted view of considering the self and general characteristics of things as things themselves, the inverted view of considering actions as completely pure and not completely pure due to the universal use of auspicious and inauspicious things, the inverted view of considering the only thing as not completely pure and completely pure, and the inverted view of abandoning completely afflicted and completely purified things, and the inverted view of generating fear and fainting due to considering attainment, decrease, and difference as special. These are the ten inverted views. Since Bodhisattvas do not have these inverted views, it should be understood that abiding without inversion in the meanings as stated above is the practice of Vipassanā. The practice of the conforming Dharma has been explained. After the practice of the conforming Dharma, the practice of abandoning the two extremes will be explained. Therefore, when asked what is the practice of abandoning the two extremes, in order to show the nature of true practice from the Dharma category called "Ratnakuta," the statement "The Middle Way is taught" was made. O Protector, for example, a Bodhisattva who wants to study this Dharma category of the Great Ratnakuta should properly associate with the Dharma. What is proper association with the Dharma? For example, truly discriminatingly observing all Dharmas, that is, observing no-self, no sentient beings, no life, no nurturer, no person, no individual, no one born of power, no child, this is, O Protector, called the Middle Way. From here until the second lamp simile, there is extensive elaboration. The phrase "By abandoning what can one know it?" means by abandoning what can one know the Middle Way?
