The ten aspects should be known to be in proper accordance. How is it? In what way does the practice of quiescence (śamatha) become free from distraction? This is called non-distraction because there are no six kinds of distraction. The practice of insight (vipaśyanā) becomes non-inverted, which is called non-inversion because there is no inversion regarding the ten things such as letters. For what purpose? For the purpose of definitely attaining liberation through the Middle Way, which is called abandoning the two extremes and accomplishing. Where? In the ten bhūmis. How is it? Therefore, it is said to be with distinction and without distinction. What is it? It should be known in the ten bhūmis. This shows what is said. The summary of the meaning of non-inversion is: with non-inversion regarding letters, the signs of quiescence and the signs of insight, making manifest the separation from the nature of connection; with non-inversion regarding meaning, both inverted signs are also merely appearances; with non-inversion regarding attention, completely abandoning the basis of inversion, the all-ground consciousness (ālayavijñāna), accumulating the seeds of dualistic clinging; with non-inversion regarding non-regression, regarding the inverted signs, such as illusions, without clinging to existence and non-existence, thereby being able to understand well; with non-inversion regarding self-character, its antidote, non-conceptualization, being free from expression, practicing the path on the object of the self-character of dharma; with non-inversion regarding general character, understanding all dharmas as the nature of being purified in general; with non-inversion regarding impure and pure attention, knowing well that its obscurations are not abandoned and abandoned, because the dharmadhātu is naturally luminous, being afflicted by adventitious defilements. With non-inversion regarding its adventitiousness, it is called truly knowing defilement and purification as they are, because the nature is luminous, otherwise it would be impossible to be defiled and purified. With non-inversion regarding non-fear and non-arrogance, clinging to dharmas and persons
