That is it. Therefore, it is said that complete purification means later complete purification. Like this understanding, for the realm of phenomena, impurity and purity arise suddenly, and this is truly knowing. This is also the conventional truth, not the ultimate truth. Through this true knowledge, Bodhisattvas, in the realm of phenomena, can truly know, without falsehood, the moments of all afflictions and purification. Now, in order to show the true knowledge of not being afraid and not being arrogant, it is widely stated in the scriptures: Phenomena and persons, all afflictions are without, purity is also without. Persons have no afflictions, no complete purification, and neither does the Dharma, because they cling to all afflictions and complete purification. Here, the reason is stated, just like this, because there is no person and no Dharma. In the two moments of all afflictions and complete purification, if there is anything other than afflictions and purification, then one can observe its afflictions or purification. If it is different, there will also be changes of decrease and increase. But such a person does not exist, because it is not the object of direct perception and inference. Because multiple discriminations arise for one thing, the nature of the phenomena of the completely imputed is also non-existent, because one cannot become the nature of many. Therefore, both person and phenomena, like the son of a barren woman, etc., do not exist, so all afflictions and complete purification also do not exist. The realm of activity of pure worldly wisdom, in the power of others, does not acknowledge all afflictions and complete purification. Why? Because it is the nature of being inexpressible and non-dual. If it is thought that it is not the power of others, then it is the power of those. If there are none of those, then striving to abandon all afflictions and attain complete purification would be meaningless. If it is said that the realm of phenomena will become all afflictions and complete purification, then there is no fault in this. Because those are established on things that are not the nature of the realm of phenomena, for the realm of phenomena, both are temporary, and the realm of phenomena also...

Because it is unchanging like space. Therefore, in the aspect of being completely defiled, there is no decrease for anyone; in the aspect of being completely purified, there is no difference for anyone. Why be afraid or arrogant? This is the correct understanding of fearlessness and humility. Others say that in the aspect of being completely defiled, there is no decrease for anyone; in the aspect of being completely purified, there is no difference for anyone, because no one possesses both of these. Since those are not like that, why be afraid of "I don't have this"? Why be arrogant about "My difference is this"? Others think like this: the person (Sanskrit: pudgala) is non-existent. The place where these two are experienced, and the dharma upon which these two are based, are also non-existent. These completely defiled and completely purified things are merely dependent arising, they think. This is also conventional truth, not ultimate truth, because it is non-conceptual. Through this correct understanding, one will thoroughly realize that the realm of dharma is without end and without increase, therefore it is unchanging. Others say that through this correct understanding, one will abandon all obscurations, thereby attaining the definite arising of being free from obscurations. Or, the correct understanding of the nature of conventional truth reveals the correct understanding of ultimate truth, because otherwise, the revelation would be unreasonable. Others say: Those correct understandings of letters, meanings, attention, non-regression, self-characteristics, general characteristics, impurity, purity, suddenness, fearlessness, and humility are based on the three natures. Among them, the correct understanding of letters and meanings is based on the nature of the completely imputed, because the meaning of relation and duality is discriminated. Even if that is not the sole object, the correct understanding is still the suchness, so those two are the correct understanding. The correct understanding of attention is based on the nature of the dependent, because it is discrimination and mind.
