These ten grasp the aggregates, etc., as self, as previously stated. The summary of the meaning of that alone is stated for easy grasping, because the meaning can lead to words. In order to be without ignorance and complete renunciation, if one completely sees the beginning and end of the occasion, renunciation will not arise. As explained, understanding the explanation will not give rise to ignorance either. That has been explained. In the treatise "Distinguishing the Middle and the Extremes," the chapter division of that alone is the commentary on the third chapter. After explaining that alone, it is necessary to explain the cultivation of the antidote, and the attainment of its place and fruit. Therefore, in order to explain that, the fourth chapter is composed. After that alone, since it depends on the explanation and the cultivation of the antidote, its place and the attainment of fruit are also mentioned. Since the antidote is considered as a factor of enlightenment in the sutras that are explained, it is said that "cultivating the antidote is cultivating the factors of enlightenment." Cultivating these will have the power to abandon the opposing aspects, the obscurations as explained, so they are called antidotes. These are also thirty-seven, from the four mindfulnesses to the eightfold noble path. Cultivating these is a synonym for increasing, generating, familiarizing, and doing many times. That is also to be explained after that, so it should also be said. When cultivating the factors of enlightenment, why is the cultivation of the four mindfulnesses mentioned first, and not others? To that, briefly, first, for the sake of the bad realms, for the cause of desire. Thus, it is explained extensively. That refers to cultivating the factors of enlightenment. For the time being, it is the meaning of order, first cultivate the four mindfulnesses as explained, and others will be explained later. In order not to understand the merits and faults of both Nirvana and Samsara, because children cling to conditioned phenomena as pleasure, purity, permanence, and self, they are very happy with existence and enjoyment, and are afraid of Nirvana.

Because of not understanding, and clinging to happiness etc., it can also be transformed after seeing the truth. Therefore, in order to be weary of samsara, and in order to directly realize nirvana, in order to enter the four noble truths, the practice of mindfulness is first taught. 'The body fully shows the bad aggregate' means that the bad aggregate is a bad existence. Like this, even if it appears to accumulate within a day, the body itself will change, so the body fully shows the bad aggregate. Therefore, by fully examining the body, one can enter the truth of suffering. Why? Because its characteristic is the formations associated with the bad aggregate. That is, the characteristic and nature of the truth of suffering are all the formations associated with the bad aggregate. And the body can also fully show the bad aggregate, therefore, by fully examining the body, one can enter the truth of suffering. Because of not understanding the bad aggregate, it is said: 'The bad aggregate is the suffering of formations.' Formation is the arising of things. It is also the basis of all harm, therefore it is a bad aggregate, and because it is inconsistent with the noble ones, it is suffering. As it is said: 'Birth is harm, if there is birth, there are old age and death, disease and poverty, killing and bondage, etc. enemies exist. If there is no fearless birth, those harms do not exist. If there are no trees growing, they will not be destroyed by fire, wind, and forest fire.' The 'it' mentioned here refers to the suffering of formations itself. It does not refer to the suffering of change and the suffering of suffering, because these two are not universal, and the suffering of formations is the cause. The noble ones see all contaminated things as suffering, but not uncontaminated things, because in the truth of the path, it is a great antidote. Because the inverted thoughts have disappeared, ordinary people do not think so. It is also said in the Sutra Pitaka: 'In short, the five aggregates of grasping are suffering.' Others say that the suffering of formations itself.
