The explanation of what is called "root" is: some parts of the body's faculties themselves, and the names of male and female faculties are obtained by the difference of being able to dominate. Wherever there are male and female faculties, there is the establishment of lineage, and relying on it, the continuation of lineage will not be cut off. In the desire realm, for the gods who engage in desire, there are male and female faculties, so there is the establishment of lineage, but it is not so when there is not. For the scent-eaters and others, there is no ability to dominate, even if there are scent-eaters and others, because there are no male and female faculties, for eunuchs and others, there is no power to produce offspring. Although food and the like are able to dominate, they are not included in the category of sentient beings, so they are not called faculties. For enjoyment, "the faculties of feeling," etc., are connected with being able to dominate. If asked, how are they connected? Therefore, it is said: it is for the sake of enjoying the fruits of good and bad karma. There are five faculties of feeling, namely: pleasure, pain, joy, sorrow, and equanimity. They are the nature of experience, so they enjoy the fruits of good and bad karma, but name and form are not able to dominate it, because they are the cause of feeling. The entity of its cause is the main cause of the maturation of feeling. Worldly purification is abandoning worldly defilements. The "faith, etc." among them refers to the five faculties of faith, diligence, mindfulness, concentration, and wisdom, which tend to be able to dominate. They are the antidote to lack of faith and the like, and are distinguished by the worldly path. Others say: because they are in accordance with the part of liberation, they are distinguished. Transcendent purification is "the faculty of complete knowledge," etc., which tends to be able to dominate. Abandoning defilements by the transcendent path is transcendent purification. Among them, the three faculties of the faculty of complete knowledge, the faculty of known, and the faculty of complete knowledge are able to dominate, and they are in the path of seeing, the path of cultivation, and the path of no more learning.

Because it is assembled in sequence. Among them, the five, such as faith, and mind, pleasure, pain, and equanimity, etc., are dependent on the differences such as non-interruption, and according to what is appropriate, the nine faculties are, the path of seeing is the faculty of all-knowing function, the path of cultivation is the faculty of all-knowing, the path of no more learning is called the faculty of having all-knowing. Yogis make other establishments, for the faculty of all-knowing function and the faculty of all-knowing, there are ten faculties, if pain is added to the nine faculties mentioned before, it becomes ten faculties. For the faculty of having all-knowing, it is the nine faculties themselves. Among them, the path of application, which is the nature corresponding to the decisive part, and the fifteen moments of the path of seeing, are the faculty of mind, and the five, such as faith, and depending on the differences such as non-interruption, according to what is appropriate, any of the faculties of pleasure, joy, pain, and equanimity. The faculty of pain is to be known as being held by the desire for supreme liberation under the part corresponding to the decisive part at the time of application. These ten faculties should be combined as appropriate, because before it was not all-knowing, in order to know that only thing, it is called the faculty of not all-knowing function. From the sixteen moments of the path of seeing to the Vajra-like Samadhi, on that path of learning, those ten kinds of faculties themselves are called the faculty of all-knowing, because before it was unknown, there is no reason to become a knower. On the path of no more learning, except for the faculty of pain, the remaining ones obtain the name of the faculty of having all-knowing. Because it is the faculty of having all-knowing, it is called the faculty of having all-knowing. In this way, those who are skilled in faculties, those who hold the faculties for Purusha, and Mahadeva and Nirveda's son, etc., will regress. Under the meaning of the faculties, the meaning of the three times must be explained, therefore, it is said: Fruit and cause have all been used, likewise unused is other. Among them, the cause is
