If things do not exist, then even if there are internal sense bases such as the eye, there will be no function of approaching the complete severance of meaning. Feeling and the complete severance of meaning are the same and possess, these are the objects of the door of birth, therefore these sense bases should be understood. The main thing is to grasp the two. The main grasping is because it is the nature of acting on the result of karma and completely severing meaning. Through approaching the function of feeling and completely severing meaning, the conceptualization of the eater arises, therefore the sense bases are distinguished and established through two meanings. Thus, being skilled in the sense bases, the eater is the internal sense bases, and what is to be eaten is the external ones. Thinking that the eater is without self, the grasping of the self as the eater will be reversed. If it is said that the eye and other sense bases have benefit and harm, therefore its place is labeled as the eater, that is unreasonable, because the form is blocked, just like the self, the eye and other sense bases are also non-existent. This should not be a dispute, because here only the completely imputed form is to be blocked, not the conceptually established form. Among them, the difference in the transformation of the Alaya consciousness is discovered by the karma increased by the habit of contact with the eye and so on, this is the internal sense base. The entering consciousness that arises from that cause, the appearance of form and so on, is the external sense base. The Alaya consciousness appears as a common meaning, and also appears as sentient beings, this is also called the external sense base because the entering consciousness that appears as the grasped and the grasper is the main cause of birth, not because it becomes the object. In this way, does it not contradict the Sutra Pitaka which says, "Relying on the two, eye consciousness and so on arise"? The appearance of form and so on is different from consciousness, then it is unreasonable for it to become the cause of birth, because it exists and does not exist at the time of being born and not being born. Also, because entering oneself is contradictory. Therefore, one must admit that consciousness is different from the appearance of form and so on.

If someone says that, this should not be blamed. Like this, for the appearance consciousness of form and so on, in order to generate similar consciousness, as a condition, it leaves imprints on the consciousness. After the imprints are complete, the consciousness that manifests form and so on will arise again. Thus, the consciousness that generates the nature imprints of the appearance of form and so on is said to be the cause of consciousness, so it is not contradictory to the Sutra school. In this way, because it is the cause of self-appearing consciousness, the special appearance of form and so on is reasonable as an object. Or, just as the external object proponents say, although there is no producer and produced, because the existence or non-existence of it leads to the existence or non-existence of consciousness, so what arises simultaneously with consciousness is established as the objective condition. Similarly, here, although the consciousness that manifests form and so on does not have the entity of producer and produced, because the existence or non-existence of it leads to the existence or non-existence of consciousness, so there is no confusion, therefore it is established as cause and caused. If you say that the appearance of form and consciousness are not different, so they cannot be confused like metaphor and reality, that is not the case, because it is falsely established as different. For example, the consciousness of dreams, illusions, and Gandharva cities, although there is no difference in ultimate truth, because it is the place of grasping and apprehending, so like the nominal difference of grasping and apprehending, it is established as the object and the object's entity, so there is no obstacle to others. In addition, the object and the subject's entity are all just falsely established, and do not actually exist. Consciousness, whether born or unborn, cannot grasp the object, because the born consciousness immediately disintegrates after arising, so it does not stay and does not exist at the time of grasping. The object cannot be grasped by both the born and the unborn, because the born does not stay, and the unborn does not exist, and what has no basis cannot be the object. If only because of existence it becomes the reality of cause and effect,
