It should be added with the phrase "thus it is declared." Among these, initially only the aggregates are explained, and those should also be understood as having three meanings: the meaning of multiplicity, which means any form, whether it is past, future, or present, or internal, external, coarse, subtle, inferior, superior, distant, or near, these are the meanings of multiplicity. Because for many things such as the past, it is called an aggregate. The meaning of gathering is the aggregate, which is gathered and becomes one. The meaning of complete separation should also be connected with "aggregate." And the word "also" means that both the meaning of multiplicity and the meaning of gathering are also the meaning of gathering. Here, the reason is explained, the nature of the form aggregate is established to be different from the nature of feeling and so on. Difference is also completely separated, belonging to the category. Here, why is the meaning of the aggregate of these three branches established? Because "the meaning of aggregate is the meaning of accumulation," therefore it is established in this way, because it can also be seen in the world. Thus, in the world, whether it is multiplicity, gathering, or complete separation, those are called accumulation. How the form aggregate is, the feeling aggregate and so on should also be understood in this way. Among these, no matter how it arises, no matter what will arise, etc., all these are the person, in order to counteract the clinging to the single self, how to be proficient in the meaning of the aggregate is explained. How is it? For the different forms and so on, such as the past, gathered into one, it is established as the form and other aggregates. Moreover, in order to counteract the three kinds of ignorance, three kinds of aggregates are established, the three kinds of ignorance are ignorance of oneness, ignorance of roundness, and ignorance of confusion of nature. After the aggregates, the elements are shown, therefore after the meaning of the aggregates, the meaning of the elements is declared. "Grasping and what is grasped and that grasping, the meaning of seed is thought of as different." That is what is said. The word "different" should be connected with the element itself, because it is shown after the aggregates. Therefore, the commentator also says, what is different?

The term 'dhātu' has been mentioned. The meaning of 'seed' is the meaning of 'dhātu'. For example, a diamond containing gold is called a 'gold dhātu', which is like appearing as a 'gold seed'. Furthermore, because of the difference in results, it is divided into three types: the grasping dhātu, the grasped dhātu, and the dhātu that grasps them. Among these, the meaning of the grasping seed is the eye dhātu, etc. Which are the eye dhātu, etc.? Those dhātus from the eye dhātu up to the mind dhātu. These are called grasping because they are the places for grasping objects such as form. Also, because they are the cause of similar eyes, etc., they are called 'dhātus'. The meaning of the grasped seed is from the form dhātu, etc., up to the dharma dhātu. These are called grasped because they are the objects of the consciousnesses of the eye, etc. Similarly, these are called 'dhātus' because they are the substantial cause of similar things such as form. The meaning of the seed that grasps them is the eye consciousness dhātu, etc. Because they are the nature of knowing objects such as form, the eye consciousness grasps form, etc., up to the mind consciousness. These are called 'dhātus' because they are the cause of similar eye consciousnesses, etc., that is, from the eye consciousness dhātu to the mind consciousness dhātu. Some say that the ālaya-vijñāna, which is imbued with the habitual tendencies of actions of manifest clinging to the eye, etc., is the seed of the eye, etc., in order. Similarly, the ālaya-vijñāna, which is imbued with the habitual tendencies of actions of manifest clinging to form, etc., is the seed of form, etc., in order. Similarly, the ālaya-vijñāna, which is imbued with the habitual tendencies of actions of manifest clinging to the consciousness of the eye, etc., is the seed of the eye consciousness, in order. In this way, only the ālaya-vijñāna is referred to by the term 'dhātu', and the eye, etc., are not referred to as 'dhātu'. This needs to be considered. In order to dispel ignorance about the agent, the action, and the deed, the dhātu is established for the three meanings of seed. Regarding this,
