The self-characterized is not suffering, because it does not exist. Moreover, the nature of the self-characterized is to cling to persons and dharmas, and to closely grasp the nature of things as real. Thus, closely grasping and clinging to the nature of what is characterized is suffering. The nature of the other-dependent is associated with the suffering of characteristics. The suffering of characteristics is the nature of suffering in three ways: the suffering of suffering, the suffering of change, and the suffering of conditioning. These three sufferings are the suffering of the other-dependent, which is the suffering of characteristics. The nature of the perfectly established is suffering through connection. The word "moreover" has the meaning of gathering together. How so? Because of connection, therefore it is said to be connected with suffering. The nature of the other-dependent is suffering, and its dharma-nature, the perfectly established, is also called suffering because it is connected with suffering. In the essence of the root, in order, the suffering of close grasping is the self-characterized, the characteristic is the other-dependent, and the connection is the perfectly established. The unreal is not real of it, and emptiness is considered as its own nature. Thus, emptiness is of three kinds: emptiness by the absence of things, emptiness by not being that, and emptiness by its own nature. Here, emptiness by the absence of things is the nature of the self-characterized. To show that, the characteristic of the self-characterized, like the nature of a rabbit's horn, etc., cannot be apprehended as existing by any means of direct perception or inference, because it is the absence of things, therefore it is said to be its emptiness. Emptiness by not being that is the nature of the other-dependent. To show that, the characteristic of the other-dependent, like the two natures characterized by children, although they do not exist as such, like those awakened by pure worldly wisdom, are not entirely non-existent. Therefore, it is said that it is its emptiness because it is not that. Emptiness by its own nature.

Fifth, it is the nature of perfect accomplishment. Therefore, the characteristic of perfect accomplishment is the mountain of things where dualistic grasping does not exist, so it is the nature of emptiness. Therefore, only self-nature, that is, only the nature of reality, is said to be its emptiness. The scriptures extensively state, "Because of the absence of inherent existence, there is no self." There are also three types of selflessness: selflessness due to the absence of inherent existence, selflessness due to the incompatible inherent existence, and selflessness due to one's own inherent existence. Among these, the nature of the completely imputed, because there are no things in terms of inherent existence, the absence of inherent existence itself is selflessness. Therefore, it is said that the nature of the completely imputed, because it does not exist in terms of inherent existence, the absence of inherent existence itself is its selflessness, showing that it is not in any other way. The dependent nature is selflessness due to the incompatible inherent existence. Thus, the nature of the dependent, although it exists in the essence of things, it does not exist as children completely impute it in terms of duality. The so-called incompatible inherent existence is different from the inherent existence of the completely imputed, it is the selflessness of the inherent existence of the dependent. In this way, it is shown that the selflessness of the completely imputed is its selflessness. Selflessness due to one's own inherent existence is the perfectly accomplished. Thus, the perfectly accomplished, because it is the nature of reality, is the nature of things without the object of grasping and the grasper, so it is selflessness. Therefore, the so-called selflessness of one's own inherent existence is to show the nature of selflessness in the Dharma of the perfectly accomplished. If asked, what is the difference between emptiness and selflessness? Some say that where there is nothing, it is empty; what is not the self, that is, the nature of reality, of something, that is selflessness. This is the difference between the two. Some say that in reality there is no difference, but they differ in terms of the distinction of establishment. Thus, where there is nothing, because there is no its nature of reality, it is selflessness; in another case, because there is no perfectly accomplished nature of reality on it, it is emptiness. It is the antidote to the two extremes of superimposition and denial, and the sudden
