O sons, it should be known as the fruit of stream-enterer and so forth. All of these, together with the lama, are common to the Bodhisattvas and the Shravakas and so forth. As it is said in the Sutra: The ordained should also learn the precepts of the Shravakas, the rituals, the field of activity, and the proper conduct. They should learn the precepts of the Pratyekabuddhas, the rituals, the field of activity, and the proper conduct. They should also learn the precepts of the Bodhisattvas, the rituals, the field of activity, and the proper conduct. Thus it is said. The unsurpassed of the Bodhisattvas is uncommon, the seventh meaning is unsurpassed. Others say, in order to generate skill in the characteristics of complete defilement and complete purification, therefore, first is the characteristic. Among these, what is complete defilement? It is obscuration. What is complete purification? It is Suchness. By understanding Suchness, obscuration will be abandoned, therefore, it is obscuration and Suchness. In order to show the method of abandoning it, after that is the antidote with its retinue, which is the path. In order to show the distinctions of the beginning, middle, and end, small, medium, and large of that path, therefore, it is the stage of the path. Since it causes the attainment of the fruit that is in accordance with the stage, after that is the fruit. All of these are common to the Bodhisattvas and the Shravakas and so forth. Therefore, in order to thoroughly show the uncommon and the way of the Mahayana, it is called unsurpassed. Others say, in order to know the characteristics of existence and non-existence, therefore, first the characteristics are explained. Having known the characteristics, in order to abandon obscuration and to directly realize Suchness, therefore, after that is obscuration and Suchness. The method of abandoning and directly realizing these two is this: cultivating the antidote. The medium and the supreme of that are the distinctions of the stage. What is to be abandoned by that is the fruit. In order to thoroughly show that after that is the unsurpassed vehicle, therefore, this is the order. Furthermore, since the mind is deluded about the phenomena of existence and non-existence, in order to abandon denigration and superimposition, the characteristics are explained. Having abandoned delusion, skilled in obscuration

It is for the sake of obscuration. Because it obscures itself, in order to master itself, therefore after it is itself. By meditating on thoroughly realizing itself, obscuration will be removed, so after itself is meditating on the antidote. In order to master its divisions, it is the stage. Because the stage thoroughly distinguishes the fruit, in order to generate the necessity of mastering it, therefore after the stage is the fruit. All of these rely on the Mahayana, so finally the unsurpassed Mahayana is taught, I think. Among them, starting from the characteristic. "The unreal is the totally imagined, on it the two are not, emptiness is in this, on it also that is." Thus it is said. The so-called "on it" is from the characteristic and the seven things mentioned such as obscuration, starting from the characteristic and focusing on it. Therefore, "The unreal is the totally imagined" and so on are declared. As it is shown, it is explained in the same way, because the characteristic is shown first, therefore the rest first began to explain it. Some people think that all dharmas are like rabbit horns, and there is no inherent nature at all. In order to refute the slander of everything, it is declared that "The unreal is the totally imagined", the so-called nature is the remainder of the words. If so, the sutra says that all dharmas are empty, then is it not contradictory to the sutra? It is not contradictory, it is like this. On it the two are not. The unreal, the totally imagined, because it is separated from the nature of the grasper and the grasped, so it is not that there is no inherent nature, therefore it is not contradictory to the sutra. If so, the two are originally non-existent like rabbit horns, and the unreal, the totally imagined, exists inherently in the ultimate truth, if so, then emptiness will not exist, that is not the case, it is like this. Emptiness is in this. On the unreal, the totally imagined, the non-existence of the grasper and the grasped, that is emptiness, so emptiness will not not exist. If the non-existence of the two is emptiness, and it also exists on the unreal, the totally imagined, why are we not liberated? If it exists, why is it not realized? Such doubts.
