Because of the change of land, it is an obstacle to the cause of trust, so the obstacle to trust is the obstacle to not being afraid. Here the reason is stated, because of distrust, there is fear. Distrust will lead to fear of the Dharma. The cause of making people trust is the cause of not being stingy, that is, not being attached to the supreme Dharma, as well as gain, respect, and offerings, and compassion for sentient beings. Because it is contrary to the cause of making people trust, the obstacle to making people trust is established as the obstacle of not being stingy. Here the reason is stated, because there is no stinginess towards the Dharma, so it makes others trust. Not particularly clinging to the supreme Dharma, etc., will lead to stinginess towards the Dharma. Being stingy towards the Dharma will not preach the Dharma to others, therefore, the obstacle to making people trust is the obstacle of not being stingy. The three causes of attainment are, not having the karma of being trapped by the Dharma, as well as much learning, and completely practicing meditation. Contrary to this, being trapped by hearing, etc., is established as the obstacle of freedom. Here the reason is stated, because freedom is the nature of obtaining freedom. Some say that the reason for the order of virtue, etc., is like this, because the continuum of the mind of virtuous Dharma is shown closely, so there is the merit of obtaining Bodhi, therefore, virtue is first proclaimed. After that, Bodhi is proclaimed. The mind of Bodhi is the basis of all virtuous Dharmas, relying on the mind of Bodhi, both can be accomplished until Bodhi, therefore, after that, the mind of Bodhi is proclaimed. After generating the mind of Bodhi, diligently practice the six perfections, and completely abandon evil people and hateful people, thus showing the nature of the Bodhisattva here. Therefore, after proper attention, wisdom is proclaimed. In this way, when diligently practicing, one can abandon inversion and generate wisdom without inversion, therefore, after wisdom, infallibility is proclaimed.

That is the path of seeing. By becoming familiar with it, all obscurations are removed. Therefore, after that, the non-obscuration that removes obscurations is explained. If there is no obscuration, there is no attachment to existence and enjoyment. Therefore, the mind is completely inclined towards becoming a Buddha, and not towards anything else. Therefore, after that, the dedication is explained. In that way, great joy arises towards the extremely profound teachings of the Buddha. Because there is no fear, therefore after that, non-fear is explained. In that way, when the Dharma becomes manifest, how could stinginess arise when relying on whatever methods are seen to tame sentient beings? Therefore, after non-fear, non-stinginess is explained. In that way, a Bodhisattva who has abandoned obscurations and perfected the white dharmas gains mastery over the mind. Therefore, after that, mastery is explained. This is the order. This chapter division is about obscurations. Therefore, the causes of arising, such as goodness, are briefly made like obscurations. Those that arise from the context are summarized in verses. The ten causes are: birth, dwelling, dependence, object to be shown, change, separation, otherness, faith, expression, attainment. That is for the purpose of summarizing examples. The second verse in the middle is: the eye and food, or a lamp and fire, etc., are examples of that. An axe, skill, smoke, and cause, road, etc., are others. On direction and the far shore, the obscurations are different. Previously, goodness and its obscurations were not distinguished and explained. Now, goodness is explained by the distinctions of direction, etc., and by the distinctions of common and uncommon. By the distinctions of not being skilled in the basis, laziness, etc., the obscurations to the goodness of direction, etc., are explained. Because they belong there, there is no difference in the actions of both Hearers and Bodhisattvas. Therefore, the aspects of enlightenment are common. Going to the other shore and the grounds are the uncommon actions of the Bodhisattvas, because the Bodhisattvas themselves make more effort in that.
