What are the obstructions to this? They are the opposing factors to the perfection of generosity and so on, as well as ignorance and hatred. 'The three unobstructed obstructions' means that they are confused because of accusation and slander. The antidote is non-confusion, which is the path of seeing. Some say that the bad habit of perversion is the increased habit of being attached to what is grasped and what grasps. Others say, are all the latent tendencies to be abandoned by seeing? In all realms of reality, it becomes an obstacle to understanding, the seed of non-afflictive ignorance, which dwells in the alaya consciousness, is fully nourished. Others say that the discrimination of self and so on without self and so on is perverted. Of the three obstructions of afflictions and so on, whatever is left over, etc. The obstruction of afflictions is the continuous arising of desire and so on, which is mostly and for a long time. Because it does not distinguish when applying the antidote to it, it is an obstruction to non-confusion. The obstruction of karma is any evil karma, such as the five heinous crimes, that is certain to lead to bad rebirths. The obstruction of fruition is bad rebirths and so on. Those born there have no chance to generate noble Dharma. Of these afflictions, karma, and life, whatever is left over is an obstruction, but not exhaustion. 'The wisdom that fully ripens liberation is not fully ripened' means that the wisdom that achieves liberation is not suitable for action. Some say that it is because it has not attained the state that corresponds to the part of discernment. Others say that the two, non-discrimination and its application, are the wisdom that fully ripens liberation here. The reason why these two are not fully ripened is that the accumulation is not complete, so it is not appropriate to realize only that, and it is not appropriate for the cause of that thing, in that order. What are the obstructions to this? The increased habit of afflictions to be abandoned by seeing, and any other remainder of the obstruction of afflictions and so on, and the ignorance and

Not yet fully complete. The removal of obstacles is called unobstructed, because it removes obstacles, hence it is the removal of obstacles. Because it is the antidote to obstacles, unobstructed is the path of cultivation. The three obstacles are the co-emergent bad places, which are the habitual tendencies of afflictions to be abandoned through cultivation. Or the co-emergent self-grasping and so on, and the seeds of non-afflictive ignorance that hinder the realization of the supreme meaning of the Dharma realm and so on, abiding in the Alaya consciousness, are fully nourished. Laziness is idleness, belonging to ignorance, hence the mind is not joyful. Carelessness is attachment to objects and not engaging in virtuous deeds. Some say that tasting the flavor of samadhi is carelessness. Therefore, bad places and laziness do not cultivate the path. Carelessness does not protect the mind from non-virtue. What are the obstacles here? It is these three. The three obstacles of complete dedication refer to what turns the mind to other places, and does not dedicate it to the unexcelled perfect enlightenment. The dedication refers to the mind's determination that all the roots of virtue that arise and occur are the cause of Buddhahood. There are three obstacles, what are the three? What completely dedicates the mind to samsara other than Buddhahood, or to the Bodhi of Shravakas and so on, and does not dedicate it to the unexcelled perfect enlightenment. These are also attachment to existence (samsara), attachment to enjoyment, and discouragement. Existence (samsara) refers to the five aggregates of close grasping. What is to be enjoyed is, enjoyment is the objects such as form. Attachment to these is attachment. Discouragement refers to a small mind, thinking how can one become a Buddha? How can someone like me do it? Thinking that it is impossible for oneself. Therefore, attachment to existence (samsara) and attachment to enjoyment will dedicate the mind to the good realms. Discouragement will dedicate the mind to the Shravaka vehicle. What are the obstacles here? It is attachment to existence, craving for enjoyment, laziness and lack of compassion. The three obstacles of fearlessness refer to
