Taking as supreme and taking vows and asceticism as supreme. Among these, taking views as supreme is the view that regards views and the five aggregates that are the basis of views as supreme, etc. Taking vows and asceticism as supreme is the view that regards vows, or asceticism, or both, or the five aggregates that are the basis of these, as pure, liberated, and definitively leading to liberation; this is taking vows and asceticism as supreme. Completely knowing the path is also knowing in various aspects such as definitively leading to liberation. How does the attachment of taking as supreme obstruct the complete knowledge of the path? Therefore, it is said, "Because one takes purity in other ways as supreme," that is, one takes purity as supreme merely through vows and asceticism, or through the place of sensual pleasure, or through asceticism, or through the knowledge of Samkhya, etc. By taking views as supreme, one also takes as supreme whatever one believes can purify. Thus, the attachment of taking as supreme abandons the path and takes purity in other ways as supreme. The attachment of doubt obstructs the complete knowledge of the Three Jewels. How so? Therefore, it is said, "Because one does not have faith in its qualities." The attachment of doubt is to have doubts about the truth and the Buddhas, that is, to completely know that the qualities and faults of the Buddha Jewel are all perfect and that it is the ultimate place of abandonment. Regarding the Dharma Jewel, to completely know that it liberates from the ocean of samsara and that it is the nature of being permanently separated from suffering along with its cause, thereby understanding it. Regarding the Sangha Jewel, to completely know that it abides in the fruit of the Shramana, and that it has entered into it, and that it is the field of unsurpassed giving. In order to abandon the truth and seeing, and doubt, by knowing and gaining faith, it is impossible if the doubt of not generating faith in the qualities of the Three Jewels is not abandoned. Therefore, the attachment of doubt obstructs the complete knowledge of the Three Jewels.

Jealousy's pervasive activity is an obstacle to fully understanding gain and respect. Here, the reason is stated, because its faults are not seen. Jealousy's pervasive activity is attachment to gain and respect, belonging to the category of hatred towards the perfections of others, causing inner turmoil. Understanding that gain and respect are the place of all harm is complete understanding. Because of jealousy, one does not understand that gain and respect turn into the opposite of all qualities, and become the root of various harms. Therefore, jealousy's pervasive activity is an obstacle to fully understanding gain and respect. Stinginess's pervasive activity is an obstacle to fully understanding frugality. If asked why, it is said because of particularly clinging to possessions. Stinginess is particularly attached to possessions, belonging to the category of desire, with the mind completely clinging to the necessities of life. Frugality is particularly being apart from possessions. Completely realizing it as the object of the place of all qualities is complete understanding. Stinginess is particularly attached to possessions, therefore one cannot fully understand it as the place of all qualities, so it is said to be an obstacle to frugality. For the subsequent pervasive activities of attachment and anger, it is an obstacle to the practice of truly realizing, but not the others. The others are an obstacle to entering the practice of truly realizing. Therefore, their order is like this: one who desires liberation must first be weary of samsara. Then maintain equanimity towards everything. Then, because it is the root of all harm, one must fully understand the view of the perishable aggregate. After that, one must fully understand that its basis is the nature of suffering and the origin of suffering. Then one must know its cessation. After that, one must know the path of attainment. Then, in order to see the truth and realize those qualities, one obtains faith by understanding the Three Jewels. By the very power of seeing the truth, one can also obtain gain and respect, and

It is possible to see the faults and merits of the two kinds of decline. In this way, from the order of the dharmas to be obscured, one should also understand the order of their obscuration. Because everything can be the nature of obscuration for everything. If it is said that the explanation of obscuration by determining each basis is unreasonable, then, here it is not to determine each basis, but because they are close to each other, they are made the main ones, thus these are shown. If asked, is the obscuration exhausted? That is common to Bodhisattvas and Hearers, etc. The obscurations of the Bodhisattvas are: what are the other obscurations for the ten dharmas such as virtue, and what are the virtues, etc., are not known. Therefore, "No union and no birth, What is born from non-yoga." etc. are said to be obscurations. Virtues, etc. are: "Virtue and Bodhi hold correctly." What is said has ten special meanings. Among them, virtue is what becomes the cause of Bodhi, that is, all roots of virtue. Bodhi is its fruit. Among them, virtue is a more excellent difference than what is generally said, and because the nature is not understood, one strives to understand it, that is, to hold correctly. Having wisdom, without confusion, without obscuration, dedication and fearlessness, without stinginess. These are the virtues to be upheld. Bodhi is also just mentioned, and the nature is not understood. Therefore, it shows that it is freedom. Some say that just as virtue and Bodhi, and holding correctly, etc., obscuration is also said to have its own nature. Therefore, here it should be known that it has its own nature, but it is not the teaching and the things that are said. The obscuration for birth is distinguished on virtue. That is also common to the Bodhicitta, etc., because virtue is to be produced. The obscuration for holding correctly, etc., and the obscuration for the support, etc., are the obscurations for holding correctly, etc., which are different. Bodhi is not confused and should be obtained, therefore, there is obscuration for its dwelling place, and obscuration for what should be obtained is distinguished. Therefore, it will not become its own nature. In short, those orders are also the roots of virtue
