From the emptiness of time to the emptiness of all dharmas, in order. Thus, there is no owner or agent of conditioned phenomena, and conditioned phenomena are not the nature of what is completely imputed by childish beings. In short, in order to counteract all conceptual grasping and to explain all the intentions of the sutras, these sixteen emptinesses, which are uncommon to hearers and bodhisattvas, are taught. Here, the Bhagavan also clearly explained the object of emptiness, the nature of emptiness, and the necessity of meditating on emptiness. Among them, the object of emptiness ranges from things like eating to the Dharma of the Buddha. Explaining this clearly is to make it known that emptiness pervades all dharmas. The nature of emptiness is the nature of non-things and the nature of things that are non-things. Clearly explaining the nature of emptiness is to make it known that it is the nature of necessarily arising from all views as an antidote to exaggeration and denigration. The necessity of meditating on emptiness is from the beginning of obtaining two kinds of good to the attainment of the Dharma of the Buddha. Explaining this is also to clearly state that the supreme perfection of the form body and Dharma body of oneself and others is obtained only through meditating on emptiness. Thus, one should know the various distinctions of emptiness, that is, in the time of impurity, there is complete affliction, and in the time of purity, there is complete purification, and one should know that it is the aspect of the sixteen distinctions such as inner emptiness that were just spoken of. After mentioning the distinctions, it is said to establish it, so after explaining the distinctions, it is asked: How should one know the reason for establishing it? What is to be established here? That is, complete affliction due to adventitious afflictions, and complete purity by nature. Among them, in terms of establishing complete affliction, the Blessed One said: 'If afflictions did not exist, all sentient beings would be liberated.' Complete liberation then

is the complete abandonment of afflictions. The complete abandonment of afflictions is also through the cultivation of the path. Regarding this, if the antidote does not arise, then the word "also" in "the emptiness of all dharmas is defiled by sudden near afflictions" will not become completely afflicted as if it had arisen. If that were the case, since there would be no complete affliction, all sentient beings would be liberated without effort. The so-called "without effort" is the absence of an antidote. Without an antidote, there is no liberation for beings. Therefore, in the state of ordinary beings, it must be undoubtedly acknowledged that the Thusness is completely defiled by sudden stains. In this way, the distinction of emptiness establishes complete affliction. Now, in order to establish the distinction of complete purity, it is said: "If purity is not realized, effort will become fruitless." It should be combined with embodied beings. If the antidote arises, but the word "also" does not become completely pure as if it had not arisen, then the effort made for liberation will become fruitless, even if the antidote is cultivated, it will not be separated from the stain, and it is not appropriate to be liberated with the stain. Because it is not desired to be fruitless for the sake of liberation, therefore, if the antidote is cultivated, by being free from sudden near afflictions, it must be undoubtedly acknowledged that the complete purity of emptiness. In this way, the distinction of emptiness establishes complete purity. Here, because of grasping the dharma of complete affliction, it is complete affliction. Grasping the dharma of complete purity, it is complete purity. For emptiness, it is not desired to manifest complete affliction or complete purity. The nature of dharma is the law of dharma, therefore it is said: "All embodied beings will be liberated." Here, the so-called "embodied beings" is said to be its cause. Otherwise, if emptiness manifests as complete affliction or complete purity, then what relationship does it have with embodied beings? In this way, emptiness is pure, and embodied beings are
