It is said that what is eaten is emptiness. Eating and what is eaten, the two, exist without being mutually exclusive from the body. That body is called the abdomen. Therefore, it is called its emptiness. The basis of the place is the vessel world, and in all places, the basis of the place of sentient beings is thoroughly understood. Therefore, because of its vastness, its emptiness is called the Great Emptiness. The word 'basis' should be connected with each one. Thus, by properly attending to knowable things in the emptiness of the basis with a discriminating mind, when attending to it, that Bodhisattva yogi will abide in this other characteristic attachment. By the knowledge of emptiness, whoever sees the inner and outer sense bases, etc., as empty, they are attached to what is apprehended and what apprehends, and how by the knowledge of that emptiness, this itself is also considered here as the aspect of the ultimate truth, in order to eliminate the two kinds of discrimination of the mistaken characteristic discrimination of the yogi's ground. Emptiness of emptiness and emptiness of ultimate truth, that is, in order. Knowing and aspect are spoken without mentioning. Or, emptiness is the object, so it is said knowing and empty. By the things that are apprehended and that apprehend, that emptiness is emptiness. The inner sense bases, etc., also, how does the knowledge of emptiness see that? Here, considering it as the aspect of the ultimate truth, that emptiness is the emptiness of the ultimate truth. Why? Emptiness is the ultimate truth, that is, empty by the nature of what is completely imputed. This other characteristic attachment is a fault of meditating on emptiness, why? Because the Bodhisattva who cultivates emptiness also falsely imputes it to the nature of things, in order to eliminate that, from the emptiness of conditioned things to the emptiness of all dharmas, emptiness is explained. Why is it cultivated? In order to obtain two kinds of good, from in order to purify the Buddha's teachings, etc., in between, emptiness is cultivated with purification, etc., which is the concluding remark of cultivating emptiness.

Go. Virtue is conditioned and unconditioned, namely the path and nirvana. These two should be combined in order with conditioned emptiness and unconditioned emptiness. "For the sake of constantly benefiting sentient beings," means that in all ways, I should constantly benefit sentient beings, and the emptiness of this thought is the emptiness of surpassing extremes. "For the sake of not abandoning samsara," means that for the sake of sentient beings, I should not abandon samsara, because if I abandon samsara, I will remain in the state of a Shravaka without attaining enlightenment. Therefore, the emptiness of this thought is the emptiness of beginninglessness and endlessness. Why is this emptiness explained? Because if samsara is not seen as emptiness without beginning or end, one will become weary and say that one will abandon samsara. "For the sake of inexhaustible virtue," means that even in nirvana without remainder, I should make the roots of virtue inexhaustible. "Not abandoning" means that it is explained as not abandoning it. If that is the case, how can the realm of nirvana without remainder of aggregates be established? Answer: The body of fruition of contaminated Dharma is non-existent, but the uncontaminated Dharma body of the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, will not be cut off even in the realm of nirvana without remainder of aggregates, which arises from the established conclusion. Therefore, its emptiness is called the emptiness of non-abandonment. "For the sake of purifying the lineage," means that its emptiness is the emptiness of self-nature. For that very reason, lineage is called self-nature. What is this like? Therefore, the phrase "for the sake of essence" is mentioned. Essence is of beginningless time, and is not something that arises suddenly, that is its definition. Just as in beginningless samsara, some have minds and some do not, so here too, some of the six sense sources are the lineage of the Buddhas, and some are the lineage of Shravakas and so on. Lineage comes one after another from beginninglessness, like the difference between having a mind and not having a mind, and is not something that arises suddenly.
