Thus, it is extensively stated. The twelve links of dependent origination are also presented from the perspective of inclusion. Here, it is because of obscuration that the statement "causes beings to be afflicted" is mentioned last and should be connected with everything. If asked, "What obscures, and how does it obscure, causing affliction?" It is said that ignorance hinders seeing things as they truly are. Ignorance is the nature of not seeing, so it intensely obscures the object of seeing things as they truly are. Thus, seeing things as they truly are does not arise. Therefore, ignorance hinders the arising of seeing things as they truly are, making ignorance an obstacle to seeing things as they truly are. Furthermore, seeing things as they truly are is actually the wisdom that transcends the world. Because it arises from that, it is obtained from that, and because of realizing that, it is cultivated by hearing, contemplating, and meditating, which are also called seeing things as they truly are. Having become an obstacle to seeing things as they truly are, ignorance is said to be the condition for actions. Thus, because of obscuration, ignorance causes beings to be afflicted. The phrase "because of planting" should also be connected with "causes beings to be afflicted." If asked, "What plants where and what?" It is said that actions plant karmic imprints on consciousness. Here, actions are the actions of body, speech, and mind, which are merit, non-merit, and the nature of immovability. That is what manifestly accumulates existence, hence it is called action, which is the meaning of planting what has not been planted. Only there is it explained as the term for action, not everything. Moreover, it is by the power of ignorance that one can accumulate existence, not merely by its presence. Therefore, it is said that actions are conditioned by ignorance. Thus, if ignorance does not arise, then those accumulate existence, but if knowledge arises, then it does not. Ignorance is not called the condition for actions merely by being the master. It is a common condition, so it is also a condition when everything arises. Thus, ignorance is associated with all afflictions, so like all afflictions

Similarly, the minds that arise from that are also the same. Meritorious formations are also those who follow the desire for existence and specific enjoyments, because the arising of everything is the ignorance that arises simultaneously with it, which is the general cause. For the unwavering, the view of seeing it as necessarily arising is also the cause of all arising, because the ignorance that arises simultaneously with it is the general cause. Therefore, it is said to be the cause of formations. The so-called "for consciousness" refers here to the alaya consciousness, not the entering consciousness, because the cessation and entering consciousness cannot lead to the place of birth, and good and afflictions cannot coexist, therefore, formations cannot destroy the karmic imprints there. The so-called karmic imprint, what is this karmic imprint? It is the future seed, the entity of the cause. For example, the fruit of grain, depending on different conditions such as soil, ashes, and ditches, the entity of the cause that produces seedlings from the change is like what is called a seed. The so-called "for placing" is another way of explaining the act of sowing itself. Placing is also, for this continuum of consciousness, it makes the initial seed grow, just as with undefiled dharmas, there is nothing in defiled dharmas that does not produce the previous seed, like this, formations also confuse samsara because they produce the seed of existence in consciousness. The so-called "confusing samsara because of leading" means that if one does not know who leads where, therefore, it is said "in order to make consciousness reach the place of birth." The consciousness completely imbued by karma dies because it continuously enters. From one place to another place of birth, the imprints that have become the seed of existence will arrive, will lead. If this is done, then the cause of the consciousness that connects the two is not formations, but it is clearly shown that the consciousness of existence itself in the previous period is the cause of formations, because the fruit arises from the destruction of the cause.
