Because when conditions gather, all of this changes, therefore, when there is no action in a person, there is no seer in seeing, etc., and even no knower. If it is said that the agent is conditioned by a person, then the word means that the person performs the action, or the action arises depending on it. Similarly, existence is not suitable as a condition, because it did not exist before, which is the same as always being near. Because it did not exist before means that before the action arose, the state in which the action did not arise is the previous state. If it is said that there was no person at that time, therefore the action did not arise, then this becomes a fault, that destruction is also not suitable as a condition. Why? Therefore it is said that the person will become impermanent, which those who speak of a person do not want. Fifth, from the act of focusing on the self, five faults are shown, which means that from a scripture derived from one, teaching the Dharma with five Dharmas as the center is called the fifth, that is, clinging to self will become clinging to life, which is like one. Even in emptiness, this mind will not enter, will not believe, will not abide correctly, will not be fond of, which should also be like one. The Blessed One distinguishes between people who have all knowledge, people who carry burdens, people who follow with faith, people who follow the Dharma, and so on. People also explain karma with this and that, which is to say that there is a self. Because it possesses the Dharma of all afflictions, in the state of all afflictions it is called a person of all afflictions, and because it possesses the Dharma of purification, in the state of purification it is called a person of purification, which is to distinguish all afflictions and purification by the difference of states. For all afflictions and purification, this is all afflictions, and this is purification, which is the difference of determination, that is, the difference of states.

Ga, etc. All these distinctions of severance are also shown by the designation of a person for the purpose of applying terms. Among them, the distinction of state is the distinction of the state of affliction, which is small, medium, and large; purification is similar. Also, regarding persons, it is said, 'This one has little desire, this one has medium desire, this one has great desire.' And regarding purification, it is said, 'This person has attained a small path, this one has attained a medium and a great path,' which is the distinction of state. The distinction of severance by affliction and purification is that any person who solely engages in non-virtuous actions is the distinction of severing affliction, and any person who solely engages in purification is the distinction of severing purification. The so-called distinction of their entry and the distinction of continuity refer to affliction and purification. Entry is entry, and for any person who applies terms, if there is no affliction or if purification thoroughly enters, that is the distinction of entry; entering continuously is the distinction of continuity. The phenomena to be fully known are affliction, which are the truths of suffering and origin. Full knowledge is purification, which are the truths of cessation and path. On cessation and truth, the so-called nature of full knowledge is the result of full knowledge, because the cause is inferred from the result. The burden is the truth of suffering. Carrying the burden is the truth of origin. Abandoning the burden, the so-called purification, is the truths of cessation and path. If asked, how do those two abandon the burden? The answer is because of fully knowing suffering with the wisdom of the noble ones and abandoning the origin. It is not possible to apply the terms 'full knowledge' and 'having' or 'carrying the burden' to the aggregates of form, etc., but it is possible to apply terms to the person who is imputed as afflicted and purified. Therefore, for the sake of the meaning of terms, the person is established. Thus.
