Therefore, thinking that the body is impermanent, etc., one no longer clings particularly to internal and external things, and thus completely abandons all internal and external things. Likewise, for the sake of life, one does not engage in killing, etc. All abuse, scolding, beatings with sticks and weapons, etc., are endured. By abandoning laziness, one also becomes a friend to those beings. By meditating on the four mindfulnesses, such as the body, one also thoroughly abandons distraction and immoral wisdom. Thus, because it is the antidote to the unfavorable side, one meditates on the four mindfulnesses in accordance with the pāramitās. In order to show this to them, in order to meditate on the mindfulnesses that are in accordance with this, therefore, the Bodhisattva is: in order to show this, he is skilled in the meditation on the four mindfulnesses of worldly people and Śrāvakas as explained in the Sūtras, etc. Just as the illusory elephant, etc., created by illusion are not real, so too is the body similar to that. The mind is like the sky, completely knowing its naturally luminous nature. The word "mind" refers to the nature of the mind, which, like the sky, is uniquely luminous. The statement "all dharmas are sudden, completely knowing" refers to all dharmas that are gathered by the mindfulness of dharmas, whether they are defiled or purified, are all conceptual constructs, like sudden dust, smoke, clouds, and haze in the sky. The phrase "meditating on mixing and approaching mixing" refers to the eighth bhūmi, etc. For the tenth bhūmi and the Buddhas, true accomplishment will only be achieved through complete accomplishment. After the four mindfulnesses, one meditates on the right abandonments, that is, in order to counteract the unfavorable aspects and faults of all the four mindfulnesses that have been explained, one meditates on the right abandonments. That is to say, through the meditation on the four mindfulnesses explained by the support, etc., the great vehicle of hearing, thinking, and meditati

It is said that meditation is based on the wisdom arising from hearing and thinking. For the opponents of those three wisdoms, such as not listening, etc., whatever those are, as an antidote, practice the correct abandonment. Similarly, for the remaining opponents, the practice of correct abandonment should also be combined. The so-called enjoyment of the perfections of samsara without defilement means that the Bodhisattva, having practiced correct abandonment, can enjoy all the perfections of samsara without defilement. The so-called practice of yoga of calm abiding and insight based on aspiration, and striving, means that the practice of correct abandonment is also the nature of diligence. Effort and initiating diligence, etc., are also the nature of diligence. So, how does one strive? It will be explained. For the time being, at first, one merely wants to become a yogi. Based on this, in order to fight together with these afflictions, one strives to diligently practice calm abiding and insight. For the one who strives, the enemies of afflictions create obstacles. The opponent of calm abiding is sinking, and the opponent of insight is excitement. In order to dispel those, the yogi strives by initiating diligence, so the stage of diligence is most excellent. By practicing diligence, the mind can well grasp sinking and also properly abide in excitement, therefore it is said that diligence is initiated as an antidote to sinking and excitement. When the mind attains equanimity in practicing calm abiding and insight, then one abides in equanimity, neither grasping well nor abiding properly. The so-called various distinctions of correct abandonment are all called antidotes, which refers to what was just said, based on aspiration, practice yoga with reasons. The so-called if one has faith and seeks meaning, that is the reason for effort, which means that if one has faith, one will want to do it, therefore faith is the agent that serves as the basis for aspiration.
