Indeed. I think that giving and so on are good because they are not consumed by demons. Because of the agreement of meaning, in order to practice for a long time, those practices are combined, and the one who causes people to correctly accept the action does as he says. Having recognized this, he combines the practice with respect for a long time. Furthermore, the Blessed One, relying on faith in the abbreviated method of taming, said that the other two ways of gathering also include these four ways of gathering. The object of dharma is the dharma of pāramitā. By the object of dharma, the listener is gathered. In this way, the Bodhisattva, with the dharma of pāramitā as the object, also makes others understand the distinctions and cuts off doubts. By the dharma of practice, the meaning of action is gathered. When practice is combined with the pāramitās, one is diligent in the meaning of action. By the dharma of taming, the agreement of meaning is gathered, and the practice is tamed by the agreement of meaning. Most of what is meaningless is in the stage of faith practice. The reason for saying this is that one cannot fully understand the thoughts and habits of those being tamed as they are, so most of it is meaningless for those who have not seen reality. Saying "most" does not mean that it is meaningless in every case. Like that, "constantly enjoying without attachment" shows non-attachment to enjoyment by the pāramitā of giving. Saying "peace" shows the pāramitā of morality, because it pacifies the non-virtuous actions of body, speech, and mind. Saying "restraint" shows the pāramitā of patience. In this way, the root of the word "restraint" expresses the meaning of pacification, and one who has patience can endure all scolding and beatings. "Existence, realm, characteristics, non-discrimination," among them, saying "existence" refers to the inner dharmas. Saying "realm" refers to external things. Because the Bodhisattva has attained non-discriminating wisdom, he does not discriminate against them. That is what gathers sentient beings.

The act is to gather beings with the four objects of gathering. The chapter on the objects of gathering is complete. Below are the offerings to the Buddha, reliance on virtuous friends, and the immeasurable ones. What is the connection between these? In order to accomplish one's own benefit, the perfections have been taught previously. In order to accomplish benefiting others, the objects of gathering have been taught. Because one may be overly attached to happiness in the perfection of one's own benefit, therefore, in order to counteract the excessive attachment to happiness, following that are the offerings to the Buddha and reliance on virtuous friends. In order to make offerings to the Buddha, by being accustomed to completely giving away the objects of practice, one will not become overly attached to the happiness of enjoyment. Not regarding body and life, and being fully engaged in pleasing virtuous friends, one will also not enjoy happiness oneself, therefore, offering to the Buddha and relying on virtuous friends, both of these are taught as antidotes to the excessive attachment to happiness. By engaging in benefiting others through the objects of gathering, if one acts contrary to that, one will abandon suffering. If one does not properly ripen and subdue beings, bodhisattvas will abandon them, and in order to counteract this, the immeasurable ones are taught. Bodhisattvas, by cultivating loving-kindness and so forth, will not abandon beings in any situation, therefore the immeasurable ones are taught. Dedication is to perfect the accumulation of merit and wisdom, that is to say, through this offering, may the accumulation of merit and wisdom be perfected without delay, and in order to perfect the accumulation of merit and wisdom of the offering to the Bhagavan, dedication is performed. The cause is the previous aspiration. That is to say, the aspiration made in past lives is the cause, therefore, at the end, it is said: May my attainment of Buddhahood be meaningful. The field is the immeasurable beings, to ripen them

"For the sake of..." means a synonym for the meaning of fully maturing sentient beings. "They fully combine with this" means that those sentient beings fully combine with the offering. They fully combine with this, like a field of sentient beings, in order to plant offerings like seeds, etc., so that flowers for offering to the Buddha may grow in the future. "Faith and so on" refers to faith, intention, and mastery. Among these, faith refers to faith in the Mahayana Dharma that corresponds to offerings. Intention refers to the nine intentions: tasting, rejoicing, delighting, purifying, not knowing satisfaction, vast, joyful, beneficial, undefiled, and virtuous intention. Mastery refers to samadhi such as the Akashagarbha, which is an offering based on the mind. Generating the mind of Bodhi, here, combining verses with aspirations, it is said that aspiration itself is prayer, just like this, verses are combined with aspiration. Any aspiration is generating the mind of Bodhi, and it is also shown as a different name for generating the mind of Bodhi, this is also the only offering based on the mind, and any loving offering to sentient beings should also be regarded as solely based on the mind. "Relying on the foundation and realization," refers to relying on the foundation and realizing the foundation, showing proper attention and correct view, obtaining great Bodhi through suchness, which is a synonym for obtaining Buddhahood, Bodhisattvas enter in stages such as offering to the Buddha, obtaining Buddhahood itself, this is the supreme offering to the Buddhas, the Bhagavat. Starting from "cause and effect itself," now, offerings should be understood through the distinctions of past, future, present, internal and external, coarse and fine, inferior and superior. Offering through acquisition and respect, acquisition refers to Dharma robes, etc., respect refers to praise and prostration.
