Completely pure, completely Showing purity, these are the words of the Sutra. For the sake of faith, joy, and wisdom, This Dharma is virtuous. It should be understood that this is derived from this verse. As for the Dharma being good in the beginning, middle, and end, Listening is good in the beginning, for after listening in this way, faith arises from believing in this, and listening is the cause of this faith. Thinking is good in the middle, for after ascertaining with reason, analyzing with the wisdom that arises from it, one can obtain it, and it becomes the cause of joy. Meditation is good in the end, for if the mind can abide, one will fully know things as they are. Complete purity is from the perspective of purifying all defilements, for the sake of purifying all the causes of exhaustion of outflows. That is to say, previously possessing Dharmas with outflows, the continuum becomes defiled, and later possessing Dharmas without outflows, it is said to be completely pure. Regarding the hidden intention of introduction, one should observe the Shravakas, in order to prevent them from being afraid to enter the teachings, so it is shown that form and so on exist. That is to say, the form and other Dharmas of the Shravakas exist, acknowledging that Dharmas exist, thereby guiding them into non-self. If it were not so, they would think that there is neither a person nor form and other Dharmas, and thus the teachings of the Bhagavan would not be convincing and enterable. Therefore, in order to introduce the teachings, it is shown that form and so on exist. Regarding the hidden intention of characteristics, one should observe from the three natures, such as the completely imputed, that is to say, what is said to be non-existent should be understood as the nature of the completely imputed. Whatever is said to be like illusion, mirage, dream, and so on, should be understood as the nature of the other-dependent. Whatever is said about time, Perfection, aspects conducive to enlightenment, and other Dharmas, should be understood as the nature of the thoroughly established. Regarding the hidden intention of antidotes, one should observe the taming of faults, whatever is

It should be understood that speaking of ugliness is to counteract desire. Similarly, it should be understood that speaking of love, etc., as a remedy for hatred, etc., is to counteract it as appropriate. 'Abiding well in what is inverted' means turning away from clinging to permanence, pleasure, purity, and self. 'Inverted' means abiding well without losing sight of impermanence, etc., which is to say abiding in what is inverted. Impermanence, etc., is the opposite of permanence, etc. Abiding in these impermanent things without losing sight of them is called abiding well in what is inverted. Alternatively, 'abiding well in what is inverted' means abiding well only in what is inverted with respect to permanence, etc. How does one abide well? In his mind, he thinks that things like permanence are always in a state of inversion, and that they are never not in a state of inversion, and he is unwavering in this thought. Speaking of the remedy for the obscuration of the object of desire, such as when the Blessed One greatly praised the prosperity of the Buddha-fields, means that for those who are manifestly attached to the desire of the three realms, who think that whatever perfections are included in the three realms are the best and most important, the prosperity of the Buddha-fields is praised as a remedy for that. Speaking of the remedy for the obscuration of the object of pride, such as when the Blessed One especially praised the perfections of some Buddha-fields, what is pride? It is the arrogance of mind towards the five aggregates of close grasping, based on the view of the perishable collection. Some gods, nagas, yakshas, gandharvas, etc., think, 'I have a form, and I have a beautiful appearance and power. I am superior by power, etc., and there is no other who is comparable,' and they become arrogant about their form, power, vastness, dominion, etc. In order to abandon the arrogance of those who are covered by pride, the perfections of the Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, are all gods, humans, asuras, etc.
