The word 'ra' should be added. The assembly of beings of the Buddha is universally present, which means accepting all beings as oneself, which is to be understood from complete accomplishment. That is to say, he (referring to the Bodhisattva) realizes on the first ground that in order to enter all Dharmadhatu, who he is, is who the beings are, thereby attaining equality with all beings. The Buddha completely accomplishes accepting all beings as oneself, because Suchness has been completely accomplished as universally present, which is another distinction. 'As a drum is not struck' means that just as beings, by the power of past virtuous roots, without striking a drum, friends naturally hear sounds such as 'desires are impermanent, unstable, unreliable, and are the cause of falling into evil destinies,' and so on. Similarly, the Buddhas, the Bhagavat who abide in the Svabhavikakaya, also naturally preach the Dharma by the power of past aspirations. Similarly, just as a jewel effortlessly displays its own light. The jewel does not think, 'I will do things with light,' but it can display light without discrimination, and the wish-fulfilling jewel can also display power. Similarly, the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, in the state of natural accomplishment, without laboring, just like without discrimination, can accomplish the deeds of the Buddha. These two verses show the principle of natural accomplishment. Now, two verses are used to show that the Buddha's activities are never interrupted, just as in the sky, worldly affairs appear uninterruptedly. How can it be uninterrupted in all world realms? In other world realms, in emptiness, worldly affairs do not appear, but in those places where there is attachment, worldly affairs will appear uninterruptedly. Similarly, in the uncontaminated Dharmadhatu, like the sky without interruption, the Buddha's activities will also occur uninterruptedly. Just as there are always various things in the sky.

Just as arising and ceasing occur, similarly, in the realm of the uncontaminated, the activity of the Buddhas arises and subsides. For those sentient beings who have the fortune, it arises; for those who do not have the fortune, it subsides. Because there is no difference between the former and the latter. To say that it is also pure is not so, because it was not completely afflicted before, nor is it later, therefore it is not pure. If something has impurities, then it will become pure, but the realm of Dharma is not impure either before or after. Because it is free from the impurities of all sudden obscurations, it is also not impure. The supreme of non-self is the complete purity of Suchness. Moreover, in terms of its essential nature, it is the "self" of the Buddhas. When we say the word "self," it is seen in the self that is being examined. It is also seen in the essence of Dharma. For example, the statement "earth is the nature of hardness" is understood as "the essence of hardness," and the statement "fire is the nature of warmth" is understood as "the essence of warmth." Here, too, it is the same. The supreme of non-self is the complete purity of Suchness, and the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, are also the essence of that complete purity. Therefore, the word "self" is the essence of the supreme of non-self, and it should be viewed in this way. Therefore, it is said, "Buddha does not exist, nor can it be said that he does not exist." It is because of that reason that it cannot be said that the Buddha exists, because Suchness is the nature of the absence of persons and phenomena that are completely imputed. Thus, Suchness is neither the nature of the essence of a person nor the nature of the essence of a phenomenon, because the completely imputed person is like a rabbit's horn, and the completely imputed phenomenon is the same. With this intention, Buddhahood itself is also not existent. Because it exists in the nature of Suchness, it is also not non-existent. Just as the heat of iron subsides and the haze in the eye subsides, because it is the nature of the absence of suffering and the absence of haze, it is said that existence is also not correct. Just like this, the absence of heat and the absence of haze are also not existent, just like the absence of plague.
