It is called having the intention of happiness because it gives without regard to oneself through diligence, and because it completely accomplishes what sentient beings think through pleasant speech and so on. After that, it is called having the intention of benefit because it gathers with the objects of gathering and introduces them to the teachings, and because it combines renunciation and so on with benefit. Giving away one's own body and all possessions means giving away one's head, feet, hands, eyes, flesh, blood, fat, bones, and so on, so it is giving away one's entire body. Giving away wealth, grain, storehouses, treasuries, jewels, pearls, ornaments, elephants, horses, sons, servants, and so on is giving away all possessions. What words in the verses indicate that giving without discrimination and giving without satisfaction? It means that the merit of giving equally will not be satisfied. Giving without discrimination and giving without satisfaction are the merits of giving. Giving without discrimination is because compassion does not consider the difference of vessels. The words "benefiting this life and the next" are words from the verses. It ripens others through two kinds of benefit. This is what it indicates. "Constant" refers to the stable discipline, and whatever is properly taken up is followed at all times, and is not abandoned even in the face of life-threatening situations, so it is called the proclaimed discipline. "Natural discipline" means that because one is very familiar with discipline, one naturally becomes disciplined, and does not engage in properly taking up discipline after separately examining and repeatedly examining. Benefiting others in the next life is accomplished through the merits of maturation and causal correspondence, because their maturation and causal correspondence are mutually harmonious, so they are not interrupted. That is to say, a person who possesses such discipline is born in a happy realm, which is the fruit of maturation. Due to the power of previous habituation, again and again

Entering into the practice of pure morality is the fruit of a similar cause, because a similar cause is like the cause itself. After dying and transmigrating, due to the power of habituation, one continues to engage in the same way in other lifetimes, hence it is called continuity. It is said that the ripening and similar causes are mutually compatible, so the continuity is unbroken. "Supreme diligence" means to show the meaning of great diligence. "Even for the sake of one virtuous thought of another" means that even if another generates one virtuous thought in hundreds of thousands of millions of kalpas, the Bodhisattva will not be discouraged. "Without distraction, desiring offerings from others, all are certainly destroyed" means not thinking, "Others will make offerings and show respect to me, so I should be diligent." It means that a mind without distraction, free from the desire for offerings and respect, brings about maturation. The way of its meaning is the ultimate meaning. The way of the intended meaning is the way of the meaning of intention. The chapter on maturation. After maturation comes omniscience. What is its connection? It is that the accumulation of virtuous roots of the Bodhisattva in this way, when matured, will touch the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, so after that is the chapter on enlightenment. In another way, the object of training, such as the benefit of oneself and others, and the seven objects are explained. Thus, the Bodhicitta strives for enlightenment. Why is that? It is to benefit oneself and others. Therefore, it is the chapter on the benefit of oneself and others. Entering into the benefit of oneself and others requires being free from all defilements, so after that, the method of being free from all defilements, which is the chapter on Suchness, is explained. After that, for the sake of taming sentient beings, the method of not being discouraged, which is the chapter on Power, is explained. Only through this Suchness and Power can the Buddha-dharma of the Bodhisattva be matured in sequence, and sentient beings be matured. Thus, that Bodhisattva

Realizing one's own nature, the nine aspects such as joy become extremely vast, and it is not that one has not realized that very nature. Having power and being tireless, one can ripen sentient beings, but without power, one cannot. Therefore, the method of tireless power is explained. Having thus ripened oneself and sentient beings, and having completely accumulated the collections, one will then easily manifest the unexcelled, perfectly complete enlightenment. Therefore, after ripening is the stage of enlightenment. The four things, such as the benefit of oneself and others, are the cause, and enlightenment is the result. Therefore, Bodhisattvas regard the fourth as the cause and the fifth as the result, so the order is without fault. The term "supreme kalpa, long-time going" means that the word "supreme" refers to the great kalpa. Those supreme kalpas go on for a long time, that is, the term "three countless kalpas." "Long" refers to three countless kalpas. The term "the characteristic of non-duality, endowed with power" means that the Buddha himself is neither a characteristic of existing by the nature of complete imputation, nor a characteristic of not existing by the nature of perfect completion. Like a source of jewels, that is power. Since Suchness is not a different nature, and the Buddha himself is also completely pure, it is said that all dharmas are the Buddha himself, that is, Suchness follows all dharmas, and dharmas and entities are not different, therefore it is said that all dharmas are the Buddha himself. The term "those are not to show that" is because the nature of complete imputation, such as going to the other shore, is not completely established. The term "in the field of the disciples' lineage, the good crops" refers to diligent cultivation there. The Buddha himself is the one in whom the crops of good dharma grow in the field of those to be tamed.
