By manifestly accomplishing excellent qualities, beings are completely matured. Those excellent qualities, such as supernormal knowledges, are also accomplished through subsequent manifest realization and ultimate manifest realization, therefore after the chapter on "Thusness" is the chapter on "Power." Or, in order to be without any affliction, the meaning of "Thusness" is explained. Being without any affliction is also because as long as one has not obtained power over those to be tamed, the tamed ones will not listen to instructions, and thus will become completely discouraged, because they are unable to generate faith. Therefore, after "Thusness" is the method of "Non-Rebirth," which is the chapter on "Power." Knowing the birth of others is knowing death and knowing the supernormal knowledge of birth, this is not only knowing the birth of others, but also knowing death. Just as knowing fire from smoke, wherever there is knowledge of birth, there is undoubtedly knowledge of death, therefore only knowing birth is spoken of. The so-called "How do those born in such and such places speak," refers to the words spoken by sentient beings that the Bodhisattva hears with divine ears. The so-called "Knowing the previous generation of virtue and non-virtue" is knowing the previous existence. It refers to knowing the state of karmic imprints of whatever virtuous or non-virtuous actions someone has done to others in previous lives, which is knowing the generation of virtue and non-virtue. The so-called "How to abide and attend in such a way" refers to how each supernormal knowledge arises, for example, the intention of lightness of the body of supernormal power, and so on, attending in such a way, thereby generating proper attention, and from that generating non-conceptual wisdom. Therefore it is said, "How to abide and attend in such a way." In short, it is through this sequence, and this cause and this condition, that power will be accomplished. The so-called "By what abode of noble ones, gods, and Brahma," refers to connecting the power just spoken of with abiding, and with truly adjusting and generating purity. The so-called "Abiding in bliss of noble ones and so on," the abiding of noble ones is emptiness, and

Without a mother, without wishes, and the four noble truths, gathered by the ground and the perfections. The abode of the gods is meditation and the formless. The abode of Brahma is love, compassion, joy, and equanimity. "Seeing all realms of the world as like illusions" means that just as in illusions, although not real, the birth of elephants, horses, and so on also appears, and destruction also appears, so too, bodhisattvas see some realms of the world being formed, and others being destroyed. "In the mandala of the Buddha's retinue, for the sake of showing all kinds of play with immeasurable samadhi" means that just as the noble bodhisattva Manjushri, in the retinue of the Bhagavan, having entered into samadhi, no bodhisattva could cause him to deviate from that samadhi, just as he was awakened by the daughter Good Intelligence, and so on, all kinds of play with samadhi, are those that come from the Mahayana sutras. Supernormal knowledges are six: transference, hearing in accordance, the sphere of the mind, entering, going, coming, and should be known through the door of arising in that way. Knowledges are three, for the sake of dispelling ignorance in the past extreme and so on. Liberations are eight: one who has form sees forms, this is the first liberation. Inwardly, thinking of no form, seeing outward forms, this is the second liberation. The liberation of ugliness, having realized it with the body, and abiding in completeness, this is the third. The sphere of infinite space is the fourth. The sphere of infinite consciousness is the fifth. The sphere of nothingness is the sixth. The sphere of neither perception nor non-perception is the seventh. Cessation attainment is the eighth. The spheres of mastery are eight: inwardly, thinking of form, seeing outward small forms, colors beautiful and colors ugly, knowing those forms with mastery, seeing with mastery, thinking in that way, this is the first sphere of mastery.

That is also the same as that, this is the second. Contemplating the absence of form internally, one observes external small forms, good colors and bad colors, and knows by overpowering those forms. One sees by overpowering, and thus contemplating, that is the third emanation of overpowering. Contemplating the absence of form internally, one observes external large forms, good colors and bad colors, etc., this is the fourth. The four are blue, yellow, red, and white. The emanations of exhaustion are the exhaustion of earth, water, fire, wind, blue, yellow, red, white, the emanation of infinite space, and the emanation of infinite consciousness. Samadhi is immeasurable, such as going bravely. If one asks, what is the difference between power and the nature of greatness? Power exists in its own basis. The nature of greatness is to surpass others who possess power. The chapter on power is complete. After power is the chapter on complete maturation, what is the connection? Previously it was said, "For the sake of vastness and for the sake of depth, complete maturation and non-discrimination, therefore two are shown from this, that is the unsurpassed method." Because seeing the vastness of power, beings will completely mature, and seeing the power of the Bodhisattva, those who have faith in it will strive to obtain it. Because the profound is shown, there is no discrimination, and they in turn completely mature beings, and also completely mature the Dharma of the Buddha, thus it is said. Therefore, after power is the chapter on complete maturation. Another way is that the method of non-weariness is the power that was just spoken of, because one is not wearied by the wrong practices and sufferings of samsara, and when one completely matures the Dharma and beings for a long time, one will increase through pure Dharma, so after that is the method of increasing virtue, which is the chapter on complete maturation. Possessing the limbs of abandonment, the limbs of abandonment are five: faith, immovability, and non-deceit.
