The ground of entry is indeed its ultimate, which means that from the union of ground and ground, in order to make meditation reach the ultimate, it is called the ultimate. Similarly, the ultimate of the distinction of thought that possesses this is said to be the ground. Taking up correctly the mind of enlightenment that arises from expression means that it is received in the manner of recitation of what is spoken by a virtuous friend, etc. The equality of mind towards the Buddha himself is because of realizing that his Dharmadhatu and self are not separate, which means that it is the same word as obtaining non-duality with the Dharmakaya. As it is said, in the first ground, I have become close to the ground of the Buddha, like this appears, because of realizing closeness, one will believe in non-duality. Saying that the Buddha himself is supreme is to exclude the Pratyekabuddha. Regarding birth there, it is to be understood from the distinctions of seed, mother, womb, and mother, for which the seventh case of "there" is for the meaning of special distinction, from the six meanings of vast birth, etc., that have been previously taught, birth is separated and specially shown by the distinctions of seed, etc. Having faith in the Dharma is the seed, which means that the great faith in the Mahayana Dharma is the seed. The supreme of the perfections is the perfection of wisdom, which is the mother. The bliss arising from meditation is the womb, which means that the abode is shown by the abode, the abode of the womb is meditation. Greatness is because of the need to manifest and accomplish the ten great aspirations, which means that, as it is said in the "Noble Ten Grounds Sutra", for example, in order to make offerings and complete service to all Buddhas without remainder, possessing the supreme of all kinds, completely purified by great faith, as vast as the Dharmadhatu, reaching the limit of the space realm, reaching the end of the final limit, Buddhas appear in countless eons, making offerings and great service to all counts, the first aspiration that is uninterrupted is manifested and accomplished, just like this, in the first ground, ten aspirations such as that will appear. Pure intention is close to Bodhi.

The reason for calling it "return" is that at the time of realizing the first ground, one obtains pure intention. After obtaining it, one thinks like this: I am close to the Buddha-ground. The initial Bodhicitta of Bodhisattvas is the same as the earth, because it is the basis for all the Buddha-dharmas and the accumulation of their growth. The reason for saying that the Buddha-dharmas reach the ultimate perfection on the Buddha-ground is to obtain these dharmas and their accumulation. For example, when a Bodhisattva generates the mind in the ground of adhimukti-caryā-bhūmi, that mind is the basis. Because just as grass, shrubs, medicines, and forests grow relying on the earth, relying on it, the Buddha-dharmas and their accumulation will also be completely perfected, therefore it is said that the initial Bodhicitta is the same as the earth. The intention of benefit is that which benefits and gives even in other lives. The intention of happiness is that which brings happiness and gives only in this life. Like pure gold, it does not change, because it does not depend on change. The reason for saying it is like pure gold is that just as pure gold does not change even when tested by burning, cutting, polishing, etc., the Bodhicitta of a Bodhisattva with the intention of benefit and happiness does not depend on change in any situation. The Bodhicitta endowed with the perfection of generosity is like a great treasure, just as the four great treasures such as conch shells emerge from nothing, giving and abandoning them will not be exhausted, and they can satisfy the world, so too, Bodhisattvas satisfy immeasurable beings with the enjoyment of Dharma and wealth, and the generosity will not be exhausted in the realm of nirvana without remainder, so it is called inexhaustible. Because of its indestructibility, it is firm, because laziness cannot destroy it. Like the king of medicines, the reason for saying it is like the king of medicines is that just as seeing, carrying, tasting, touching, etc. the king of medicines can pacify all diseases.
