There is no appearance of clinging. Why? Because duality is not fully established, it is thoroughly established. Even if duality is not fully established, it can be understood from the causes such as the arising of contradictory consciousness. Whoever fully understands in this way is said to be the supreme entry into the Dharma. The entry into the Dharma has been explained. Because next, the entry into Dharmata is to be explained, so in this regard, what is said is: entering Dharmata in six ways is supreme, that is, in the six ways that will be explained. These six ways are: characteristic, place, definite thought, touch, recollection, and approaching to become its nature. Among them, characteristic refers to the Suchness in which there is no difference between the grasped, the grasper, the expressible, and the expresser, this is the characteristic of Dharmata, just as it is said in the sutras. Among them, place refers to all dharmas, and all sutras belonging to the twelve divisions of scripture. All dharmas refer to form, etc. The twelve divisions of scripture refer to sutras and verses, etc. Mentioning the two repeatedly is to cover defilement and purification. Among them, definite thought refers to all the paths of application gathered by proper attention based on the Mahayana sutras. All refers to what is thoroughly distinguished by hearing, thinking, and meditating, therefore, through these, one can definitely think about it. Among them, touch refers to obtaining and experiencing Suchness in a manifest way through the path of seeing in order to obtain the correct view. Touch refers to individually recognizing Suchness through the path of seeing, this is also called obtaining and experiencing. Obtaining itself is experiencing, therefore it is said to be obtaining and experiencing. So, how should this experience be established? It is said in the sutra: in a manifest way. Being able to do it manifestly, that is experiencing, this is to explain this meaning. Because recollection is those meanings of touch, so this is explained: recollection is uprooting its stains.

Therefore, it should be said that in order to realize, how to meditate on the path of seeing, and all the paths that are included in the aspects of enlightenment. Among them, the path of meditation that immediately follows the path of seeing is called mindfulness. Through cutting off the path that has already been attained, mindfulness makes it manifest. So, what is this for? It is said in the sutra: In order to eradicate its defilements. That is to say, in order to eliminate the remaining part of the characteristic defilements that should be eliminated through meditating on suchness. This is a summary word. Since mindfulness immediately approaches its own nature, what it shows is: Approaching its own nature means that when suchness becomes immaculate, everything appears to be just suchness. Therefore, since the path of meditation eliminates the remaining defilements, when suchness becomes immaculate, the ultimate path finally appears in all aspects as just suchness. Because it is free from all defilements, it becomes just suchness. That which merely becomes the object is the approach to its own nature. This is what is called the transformation of the basis (gNas yongs su gyur pa). The transformation of the basis is perfect accomplishment, because it is its own nature. Even in the stages of the path of seeing, etc., there is transformation of the basis, therefore, here it is shown as perfect accomplishment, because all defilements have been eliminated. So, how does one enter into the transformation of the basis, and how does entering into it become unsurpassed? It is said in the sutra: Entering into the transformation of the basis through ten aspects is unsurpassed. What is about to be explained are these ten aspects. Namely: through entering into the nature, the object, the person, the difference, the necessity, the support, the attention, the combination, the faults, and the merits. Among them, first, entering into the nature is to make the adventitious defilements and suchness not appear, and to make suchness immaculate in order to manifest suchness. In order to make the adventitious defilements not appear, and in order to manifest only suchness, suchness becomes immaculate, that is the nature of the transformation of the basis. Whoever fully understands it in this way, that is entering into the nature is unsurpassed.
