External distraction, internal distraction, distraction of signs, distraction of bad states, and distraction of attention. If one wants to know what the characteristics of these are, (Scripture:) Rising and entering into objects, Likewise, savoring sinking and agitation, Believing thought and attention to self-grasping, A small mind is distraction, The wise should know. The characteristics of the six kinds of distraction are like that, and the Bodhisattva should fully understand them. Among them, rising is the five aggregates of consciousness rising from samadhi, and its nature is distraction. Entering into objects is external distraction. Savoring the taste of samadhi, as well as sinking and agitation, is internal distraction. Believing thought is the distraction of signs, because it is practiced with signs. Attention with self-grasping is the distraction of bad states, because the power of bad states causes the pride of "I" to arise universally. An inferior mind is the distraction of attention, because the attention of the inferior vehicle arises universally. Among them, the non-inverted object should be known in ten ways, namely: letters, meaning, attention, non-regression and two characteristics, impure, pure and sudden, non-anger and without pride. Among them, because of connection and because of familiarity, because of non-connection and because of unfamiliarity, meaningful and meaningless, this is the non-inversion of letters. Saying in connection with letters and without interruption, and saying "What is this name?" because of familiarity, is meaningful. The opposite is meaningless, and what is seen in this way is the non-inverted knowledge of letters. If one wants to know what the non-inversion of meaning is like, (Scripture:) What appears as two, is not as it exists, this is non-inversion of meaning, abandoning both existence and non-existence. The two are what appear as the grasped and the grasper, because their aspects arise mutually. It is not as it appears, and what is seen in this way in meaning is not

It is inverted! Abandoning the existing of reality is because the apprehended and the apprehender have no entity. Abandoning the non-existence is because the illusion appearing there exists. The conceptualization that is completely imputed by that, the place of the conceptualization's attention is, the attention is not inverted, on the cause of the appearance of duality. What is completely imputed by the conceptualization of the grasped and the grasper is the attention of the conceptualization, because the conceptualization of the grasped and the grasper is its basis. This is the non-inversion of attention. Where is the attention not inverted? It is on the cause of the appearance of the grasped and the grasper, because the conceptualization's attention is completely imputed by the concept of expression. The non-existence and existence of reality, are accepted as being like illusion, etc. That is non-distraction and non-inversion, because it is non-distraction to existence and non-existence. The non-existence and existence of reality, what was just said above, are accepted as being like illusion, etc. For example, the elephant of illusion, etc., is not really existent, and because it is only its illusion, it is also not non-existent. Similarly, reality is not really existent as it appears as the grasped and the grasper, and because it is only an illusion, it is also not non-existent. The word "etc." refers to examples such as mirages, dreams, and water moons, which should be understood accordingly. Thus, seeing reality as being like illusion, etc., and seeing that the mind is not distracted, this is non-inversion to non-distraction, because it is not distracted to existence and non-existence. Because all conceptualizations do not arise, everything is only a name, it is the non-inversion of one's own nature. From the eye and forms, etc., up to the mind and dharmas, all of these are only names. Understanding this way is the antidote to all conceptualizations, therefore this is the non-inversion to one's own nature. What is one's own nature? It is the ultimate own nature. In the relative, there is no grasping that this is only a name. Apart from the realm of dharma, in this way, dharma is not existent, therefore on the nature of the general characteristic, that is non-inverted. Apart from the selflessness of phenomena, there is no phenomenon.
