Attributing agency to actions is due to the perception that ignorance and other factors are the agents in the arising of actions and so forth. Denying agency to actions is due to the perception that there is no capacity. Since that is not the case, one should understand that there is neither attribution nor denial. Undesired and desired, and purity, co-emergence and mastery, attainment and complete conduct, are the meaning of other-dependence, that is, other. Abiding and non-abiding are to be understood by the seven meanings of other-dependence. Among these, the undesired is other-dependence, because even if one does not desire it, one still goes to the lower realms due to misconduct. The desired is other-dependence, because one goes to the happy realms through good conduct. Purity is other-dependence, because if the five obscurations are not abandoned and the seven limbs of enlightenment are not cultivated, one will not put an end to suffering. Co-emergence is other-dependence, because the Tathāgata and the Wheel-Turning King do not appear simultaneously or successively in the same world. Mastery is other-dependence, because women do not become Wheel-Turning Kings, etc. Attainment is other-dependence, because women do not realize self-enlightenment and unsurpassed perfect enlightenment. Complete conduct is other-dependence, because one does not fully engage in the perfection of view, merit, and so forth. Ordinary beings are the cause of complete conduct. The extensive explanation should be understood as it appears in the *Sūtra of Many Realms*. The faculties are twenty-two in number, namely: holding, abiding, unceasing continuity, conduct, and the two purities. From the reason of holding up to the two purities, because those are what it masters. The six, eye and so forth, master the holding of objects such as form. The life faculty masters abiding, because one does not die due to its mastery. The two faculties, male and female, master the survival of the lineage, because they master the birth of offspring. The faculties of feeling are for near conduct, the results of virtuous and non-virtuous actions.

Because of approaching and practicing. Worldly purity is faith and so on. Transcendent purity is the power of knowing everything and so on. The fruit and cause have all been practiced, and similarly, what has not been practiced is something else. What is the other? It is the three times. Appropriately combined, because the fruit and cause have all been practiced, it is the past tense. Because the fruit and cause have not been practiced, it is the future tense. Because the cause has been practiced but the fruit has not been practiced, it should be known as the present tense. Feeling is the meaning associated with the cause, and its cause is fabrication. It is associated with the meaning of the fourth and the antidote, and because it is possessed, it is considered to be something else. Among those four truths, the truth of suffering is the meaning associated with feeling and cause, whatever is felt, that is called suffering here. The cause of feeling should be known as the dharmas of the place of feeling. Its cause is fabrication. It is the truth of arising, the cause of suffering is whatever fabrication is. Because the two are pacified, it is the truth of cessation. Because it is the antidote, it is the truth of the path. Qualities, faults, and non-discrimination, with wisdom from others, I, for the sake of निश्चित emergence, is called other. The three vehicles should be appropriately combined. Among them, for Nirvana and Samsara, knowing the qualities and faults, hearing from others, for the sake of निश्चित emergence, is the Hearer Vehicle. Not hearing from others, but oneself for the sake of निश्चित emergence, is the Solitary Buddha Vehicle. Oneself, with non-discriminating wisdom, for the sake of निश्चित emergence, should be known as the Great Vehicle. Imputation is related to the cause, the reason and, the meaning of extreme tranquility is related, is the final declaration. Conditioned and unconditioned. Among them, imputation is the collection of names and so on. The cause is the Alaya consciousness contained in the seed. The reason is contained in the place, body and enjoyment, and the mind contained in the entering consciousness, as well as grasping and discrimination, that is, related to imputation, related to the cause, the reason is the same, possessed, these should be known as conditioned. Among them, the mind is what always thinks of itself, is various

Pa'o. Grasping is the collection of the five consciousnesses. Discrimination is the consciousness of mind, because it is what discriminates. The unconditioned is the complete pacification, cessation, and the meaning of complete pacification is suchness, because it is the object of the path. The path is also the nature of complete pacification. Because it causes complete pacification. Thus, knowing the aggregates and so on through this meaning, one should know how to be skilled in the aggregates and so on. The summary of just that meaning is, in short, just that has two aspects: just that like a mirror, and just that of appearance. Among these, just that like a mirror is the fundamental just that, because the rest appear there. Just that of appearance has nine aspects: just that of appearance without arrogance, just that of appearance as the antidote to perversion, just that of appearance of definite emergence through the Hearer Vehicle, just that of appearance of definite emergence through the Great Vehicle, because it matures completely through the coarse and liberates through the subtle, just that of appearance of refuting opponents because one refutes through reasoning based on examples, just that of appearance of the Great Vehicle's manifestation, just that of appearance of entering all aspects of knowable things, just that of appearance of manifesting unerring suchness, just that of appearance of realizing all intentions based on the basis of self-grasping. Commentary on the third chapter of the chapter called "Just That" from the Treatise Differentiating the Middle from the Extremes. Commentary on the Treatise Differentiating the Middle from the Extremes, the second volume, the last. Cultivating antidotes is cultivating the aspects of enlightenment, which will now be discussed. Among these, first of all: Because of bad states and the cause of desire, Because of the basis and because of non-confusion, Because of entering the four truths, Meditate on mindfulness. The body clearly shows bad states, and also through complete examination, one enters the truth of suffering. Its characteristic is that it is a compounded phenomenon with bad states, because of this reason. Bad states are the very suffering that leads, therefore, the noble ones see all contaminated things as suffering.
