Now, please look at whatever is completely given away. Therefore, you should know that I have no need for such a result. Because I always completely give away all the fruits of giving with compassion, you should know that I have no need to seek the fruits of your giving to me. In this way, the Bodhisattva follows after giving. If you do not give up obtaining the result, you will not be delighted in giving; in this way, if there is no giving even for a moment, then there is no delight in giving. The meaning of this verse ends here. Fruit is not given for what has not been done; in this way, looking for a return is not my part. You give fruit to whatever you do; therefore, looking for a return is not my part; in this way, because I am free from looking for your return, I completely give the fruit to others. The meaning of this ends here. There are two verses on giving with love: The giving with love by the princes is a faultless and pure basis, it is what leads to happiness, and it is with following protection, without seeking, without defilement. Among them, being without fault is because of giving without harming others. The basis is pure because of giving suitable things by abandoning poison, weapons, and alcohol, etc. Generating happiness is because of being completely gathered by giving and joining with virtue. Having following protection is because of giving to others without harming the beings of the retinue. Not seeking is because even if not begged, it is seeking for the sake of benefit, or because of understanding poverty and giving oneself, and because of not choosing the place of offering. Being without defilement is because of not being delighted in return and ripening. Another way is: The giving with love by the princes is all-encompassing, vast, supreme, constant, joyful, without confusion, pure, inclined towards enlightenment, inclined towards virtue. Among them, all-encompassing is because of giving inner and outer things. Vast is because of giving many things. Supreme is because of giving abundant things. Constant is because of giving again and again.
