Because the land can go to the good realms, and in order to gradually obtain the mind abiding of no regret, etc. Reliance, peace, and fearlessness. This is called karma, and discipline is the basis of all merits. It is peaceful because of the complete torment of afflictions. Because fear of reliance on the causes of killing, etc., and faults and flaws do not arise, it is fearlessness. Possessing the accumulation of merit, etc., this is called possessing, because at all times, the actions of body, speech, and mind are truly and constantly practiced. Hypothetical nature is obtained, those who abide in vows have it. This is called entering, and what is obtained by hypothesis is gathered by the Pratimoksha vows. What is obtained by nature is gathered by Samadhi and uncontaminated vows. That is entered by this distinction, because it enters by three distinctions. Those who abide in vows have it. This is called entering by reliance. There are two verses for the distinction of patience: not being angry as not thinking, relying on the Dharma with compassion, five benefits are well explained, it benefits the two. Asceticism is the main and all-encompassing, and it is said to be threefold. Having fully understood such patience, the wise person truly cultivates it. Not being angry as not thinking, etc., this is called the nature of the three kinds of patience. Patience of not being angry with those who do harm is patience of not being angry, because it is not turbid. Patience of not thinking of suffering, and patience of definitely thinking of the Dharma are also in order. Because of relying on the Dharma with compassion, this is called the cause, relying on the Dharma is truly upholding the precepts and understanding listening. Five benefits are well explained, this is called the result, as it is said in the Sutra: patience has five benefits, that is, not generating resentment, not generating discrimination, increasing happiness and mental happiness, dying without regret, and after the body is destroyed, also being born in the good realms of noble worlds. It benefits the two.

That which is called impatience, displeasure, and knowing, is to take control. This is the function, as it is said: Whoever knows that others are angry, and calms their own anger towards them, that person can accomplish the benefit of themselves and others. It is like this saying. "The ascetic is the chief and possesses all," means to possess, as it is said: "Patience is the best of asceticism." It is like this saying. "That in that" means to enter by relying. "Desiring the three aspects" means to enter by distinguishing, such as by distinguishing the three aspects of patience, as previously explained. The distinction of diligence has two verses: "Rejoicing in virtue, relying on faith and desire, increasing qualities such as mindfulness, the antidote to all afflictions, possessing qualities such as non-attachment, in those are the seven aspects. Having fully understood such diligence, the wise will truly accomplish it." "Rejoicing in virtue" means the nature, saying "in virtue" is to eliminate rejoicing in other things. Saying "truly rejoicing" is to eliminate the rejoicing of other non-Buddhists for the sake of liberation. "Relying on faith and desire" means the cause, faith and seeking are the cause of initiating diligence. "Increasing qualities such as mindfulness" means the result, after initiating diligence, qualities such as mindfulness and samadhi will arise. "The antidote to all afflictions" means the function, as it is said: "Having initiated diligence, one can dwell in comfort without being mixed with sinful and unwholesome dharmas." "Possessing qualities such as non-attachment" means to possess. "Those" refers to those who have initiated diligence, that is to enter by relying. "Those seven aspects" means to enter by distinguishing, that is, constantly practicing physical and mental diligence in the three trainings of higher morality and so on, and those who practice with respect. The distinction of meditation has two verses: "The mind dwells within, relying on mindfulness and diligence, generating bliss."

and accomplishes. And gains mastery over the realm of clairvoyance. Is the chief of all dharmas. Those have these three. Having fully understood such meditation. The wise person truly cultivates. The mind abides within. That is called the nature. Relying on mindfulness and diligence. That is called the cause. If the object is not forgotten, then relying on diligence, meditation is manifestly accomplished. Generates happiness. That is called the result. The result of meditation is to arise without harm. Gains mastery over the realm of clairvoyance. That is called the action. Because meditation gains mastery over clairvoyance. And because it gains mastery over the realm of the noble ones, the gods, and Brahma. Is the chief of all dharmas. That is called having leadership. As it is said: The chief of all dharmas is samadhi. Those have, refers to those who meditate. This is entering through dependence. Those three refer to with investigation and analysis. Without investigation but only analysis. Without investigation and without analysis. Also, having joy. Having tranquility. Having equanimity. This is entering through thorough differentiation. There are two verses on the differentiation of wisdom: Truly and well distinguishes what is to be known. Relies on samadhi. Utterly liberates from all afflictions. Wisdom is the well-spoken life force. Is the supreme of all dharmas. Those have these three. Having fully understood such wisdom. The wise person truly cultivates. Truly and well distinguishes what is to be known. That is called the nature. What is to be known, refers to eliminating the true and thorough differentiation of worldly affairs. Truly, refers to not being inverted. Relies on samadhi. That is called the cause. Thus, when the mind abides equally, it truly and thus well knows. Utterly liberates from all afflictions. That is called the result. By being able to well distinguish between the mundane and the supramundane inferior, and the supramundane superior, one is utterly liberated from all afflictions.
