There is no weariness in activities, and joy is brought about by the power of miracles and so forth, and it is transformed by praising well through the means of cutting off doubts. Therefore, the benefit of others turns into the benefit of the Bodhisattva himself, because the benefit of others is the benefit of oneself, and it is for the sake of attaining great Bodhi. Thus, in the context of all self and other benefits, there are the six perfections. Not delighting in enjoyment, not being weary of great reverence, yoga without discrimination, all the great vehicles are exhausted here. This is called the fourth. Giving is because the Bodhisattva does not look at enjoyments, so he is not delighted. By taking the precepts correctly, the Bodhisattva is very respectful to the trainings. With patience and diligence, in order, there is no weariness in the suffering caused by sentient and non-sentient beings, and in the diligence in virtue. With meditation and wisdom, that is, yoga without discrimination, which is encompassed by calm abiding and insight, all the great vehicles are exhausted in this. Therefore, from the point of view of summarizing all the great vehicles, there are the six perfections. The path of non-attachment to objects, the path of obtaining that which is the protection from distraction, the path of not abandoning sentient beings and increasing, the other is the path of purifying obscurations. This is called the fifth. Among them, giving is the path of non-attachment to objects, because by being accustomed to giving, one is separated from attachment to it. Discipline is the path of properly protecting against distraction from obtaining it, because by abiding in the discipline of a monk, one must obtain the object, because all distractions from the edge of karma will not arise. Patience is the path of not abandoning sentient beings, because one will not be disgusted by the suffering of all those who harm. Diligence is the path of increasing virtue, because by initiating diligence, it will increase. Meditation and wisdom are the paths of purifying obscurations, because the two purify afflictions and the obscurations of knowledge. Path means method, therefore, all forms of the path.

The six perfections are practiced by way of... Taking the three trainings as the main focus: The Buddha thus explained the six perfections, The first three, the last two belong to two categories, One also belongs to all three, This is the sixth (verse). Among them, the training in higher discipline is the first three perfections, in order to gather retinues and sanghas. With generosity, one does not covet possessions, and thus upholds discipline. Having upheld it properly, it is protected by patience, not retaliating with harsh words to insults, and so on. The so-called "two categories" are the training in higher mind and the training in higher wisdom. These two are encompassed by the last two perfections, namely meditation and wisdom, in that order. The single perfection of diligence also belongs to all three trainings, because diligence is the helper of all. The six verses that distinguish the characteristics are: Generosity diminishes the opposing side, Possesses non-discriminating wisdom, Fulfills all desires, Matures sentient beings in three ways. The characteristics of a Bodhisattva's generosity are fourfold: Because of abandoning miserliness, the opposing side diminishes; because of possessing the wisdom that realizes the selflessness of phenomena, possessing non-discriminating wisdom; because whatever is desired is given, it fulfills all desires; by gathering with generosity, beings are placed in the three vehicles according to their capacity, thus beings are matured in three ways. Discipline diminishes the opposing side, Possesses non-discriminating wisdom, Fulfills all desires, Matures sentient beings in three ways. Patience diminishes the opposing side, Possesses non-discriminating wisdom, Fulfills all desires, Matures sentient beings in three ways. Diligence diminishes the opposing side, Possesses non-discriminating wisdom, Fulfills all desires, Matures sentient beings in three ways. Meditation diminishes the opposing side, Possesses non-discriminating wisdom, Fulfills all desires, Matures sentient beings in three ways. Wisdom does not adjust
