Because it possesses the qualities of realization and speech, as well as a mind without defilement and without laziness. Good aspiration and good teacher, good method and renunciation, the nature of good combination, it is said to be the correct aspiration. The third verse shows that it is summarized by properly attending to one's own correct aspiration, that is, relying on the excellent Dharma, accumulating merit, and meditating on the reasons for calm abiding and so on, because there is something more to do, so it is not considered sufficient to have just a little, and it is always and respectfully combined. To be born in joy and leisure, to be without illness and in samadhi, and the cause of discernment, is the merit done in the past. The fourth verse shows the merit done in the past through five causes, the cause of joy is that even if one lives in an unsuitable place, it is not joy. The cause of being born in leisure is that one is able to obtain reliance on an excellent person. The cause of being without illness and in samadhi, and of wisdom, is that one's own correct aspiration can be accomplished. The three verses that only from afflictions can one be liberated from afflictions are: Except for the Dharmadhatu, because there is no Dharma, therefore, the Buddhas think that from those, liberation is attachment and so on. The Blessed One said, I do not say that one can be liberated from attachment except from attachment, anger and ignorance are also the same, showing that intention, because there is no Dharma except for the nature of Dharma, therefore there is no Dharma except for the Dharmadhatu, therefore the nature of Dharma such as attachment also obtains the name of attachment and so on, and that is also liberated from attachment and so on, therefore it should be known that the intention for that is that. Except for the Dharmadhatu, because there is no Dharma, therefore, for the teaching of all afflictions, the wise consider that to be the intention. Ignorance and Bodhi are one, and in that teaching of all afflictions, the intention is also that, for the Dharma nature of ignorance and Bodhi, those are closely established.
