Desiring assistance and encounter. Rejoicing in remembering accumulation is because it is truly seen that accumulating generosity and the like can accumulate the accumulation of merit and wisdom. Making effort in seeing great meaning is because it is truly seen that the meaning of the nature of generosity and the like, which is in accordance with the aspects of enlightenment, can accomplish the meaning of attaining great enlightenment. Making effort in desire also has four aspects: making effort in desiring yoga is because of desiring to practice the yoga of tranquility and insight. Making effort in desiring non-discrimination is because of desiring to be skilled in means for the sake of perfecting the perfections. Making effort in desiring to hold is because of desiring to hold the Dharma and meaning for the sake of the perfections. Making effort in desiring to encounter assistance is because of manifesting true aspirations. Seven kinds of wrong views. The power of abandonment is attainment, and in the rare and the not rare, these knowledges are fourfold. The perfections make effort with the power of abandoning the seven wrong views, among which the seven wrong views are: holding as existent what is non-existent, holding as possessing qualities what possesses faults, holding as not possessing qualities what possesses qualities, holding all conditioned phenomena as permanent, wrongly clinging to happiness in two ways, wrongly clinging to all phenomena as self, and wrongly clinging to Nirvana as not being pacified. As an antidote to these, the three samadhis such as emptiness are taught, as well as the four applications of mindfulness of the Dharma. Making effort in the four perceptions of the rare is that the perfections have the perception of being vast, the perception of being long-lasting, the perception of not expecting reward, and the perception of not looking to fruition. In the not rare, there are also four perceptions to be made effort in, the four not rare are: if the perfections are vast and long-lasting, then the fruit, Buddhahood itself, will be manifestly accomplished; if these two are present, then the mind of oneself and others will be equally established; these surpass by a hundredfold.

Even if offerings and the like are obtained from generosity and so forth, there is no expectation of return; even if a body and possessions surpassing all worlds are obtained, there is no attachment to the ripening of karma. Equanimity towards all sentient beings; seeing the great self; praising the virtues of others again and again; constantly making aspirations. Equanimity means that through generosity and so forth, one manifests the action of causing all sentient beings to enter into equality. Seeing the great self means that one correctly sees that the perfections and so forth only benefit sentient beings. Again and again means that one causes others to enter into virtues such as generosity. Aspiration means that for the sake of sentient beings, one makes aspirations for the perfections and so forth in three places, namely, for the ultimate attainment of the bodhisattva ground, the ultimate attainment of the buddha ground, and for doing the work of sentient beings. Constantly means that one manifests the action of making time meaningful through generosity and so forth. In order to accomplish the teachings of the Buddha, the mind does not dwell on this shore, and there is displeasure and great joy towards sentient beings who are inferior to oneself and superior to oneself. Correct practice means that in order to accomplish without error, the mind does not dwell on this shore. Displeasure means towards sentient beings who are inferior in generosity and so forth. Joy means towards sentient beings who are superior in generosity and so forth. Meditation on the artificial and the genuine, disbelief and belief, non-acceptance, and the joy of certain prediction. Disbelief means meditation on the artificial, such as the perfections. Belief means the genuine. Non-acceptance means that one manifests the action of subduing the opposing forces such as stinginess through generosity and so forth. Joy has two aspects, namely, the joy of obtaining the prediction of the complete perfections, and the joy of obtaining the abiding in the definitive ground of the perfections. In order to see in future lives, in order to equally regard the entering mind.
