The Dharma nature for attaining great Bodhi is just this. Therefore, it is not contradictory to the essence. Because it is said to be not the object of experience, therefore, it cannot be the object of conceptual thought, so it is stated in verse: Conceptual thought is dependent and uncertain, not pervasive, mundane, and causes weariness. It wants to rely on children. Therefore, that is not its object. Conceptual thought relies on not seeing Suchness, which is relying on a little bit of scripture. Because it is known as other at other times, it is also uncertain. Because all knowable things are not objects, it is also not pervasive. It is the object of conventional truth, but not the object of ultimate truth. Because it will completely fall into cowardice, it is also causes weariness. The Great Vehicle is because it teaches countless sutras, so it ranges from not relying to not being causes weariness. Therefore, that is not the object of conceptual thought. Because it is not a means, the Hearer Vehicle cannot attain Buddhahood even after a long time, it is said. So, how does the Great Vehicle become a means? It is stated in verse that it can become a means: Because of vastness and profundity, complete maturation and non-discrimination. Therefore, two things are shown from this, that is the unsurpassed means. What does this verse show? It shows that the power is vast, which makes sentient beings completely mature, because they strive through faith in power. It shows the profound, so there is no discrimination, therefore, from this Great Vehicle, those two are shown. That is the unsurpassed means of wisdom, because those two in order can make sentient beings completely mature, and oneself can make the Buddhadharma completely mature. Those who are afraid of this, therefore, the faults and causes of being afraid of the non-place are in the verse: Being afraid of the non-place for beings will cause suffering, accumulating great masses of non-merit for a long time, without lineage, bad friends, not accumulating merit before, not taming the mind, will be afraid of this Dharma, this will fall from this great benefit. Being afraid of the non-place is being afraid of that non-place,

They will suffer in the evil realms. Why is that? Because they have accumulated a great mass of non-merit. How long will it last? For a long time. Thus, it shows what the fault is, what the cause is, and how long it will last. Why else be afraid? It shows the four causes of fear: either having no lineage in this, or bad friends, or not having trained the mind in the nature of the Great Vehicle, or not having accumulated virtue in the past. The meaning of "falling from this great meaning" is the loss of not having attained the meaning of the great assembly of enlightenment. This shows another fault. Having explained the cause of fear, the cause of not being afraid should be explained. A verse as the cause of not being afraid: Other than that, there is nothing else, it is very profound and follows accordingly. It shows various things and always possesses teachings through many doors. The meaning is not as it is said, the Conqueror's intention is very profound. If the wise examine it properly, they will not be afraid of this Dharma. "Other than that, there is nothing else" means that there is no other Great Vehicle other than that. However, if the Hearer Vehicle itself becomes the Great Vehicle, then there will be no other Hearers and Solitary Buddhas, because all will become Buddhas. "Very profound" means the path of the wisdom of omniscience. "Following accordingly" means because it arises at the same time. "Showing various things" means that it shows various paths of accumulation from this, but it is not just emptiness. Therefore, this will become intentional. "Always possessing teachings through many doors" means that these sutras repeatedly teach emptiness in those sutras with many names. Therefore, there will be a great need. If it were not so, then it would be enough to make only one refutation. The meaning of "the meaning is not as it is said" is not as the words appear, therefore one should not be afraid. "The Conqueror's intention is very profound" means that the intention of the Buddhas, the Conquerors, is very profound and difficult to understand. Therefore, we should not be afraid because we do not understand it.

If the wise examine in this way, according to the proper manner, they will not be afraid. The realm of wisdom that has been followed for a long time, expressed in verses: This arises first from relying on hearing and then giving rise to attention. From proper attention, wisdom arises that is the object of true meaning. From that, Dharma is attained, and with that attainment, wisdom greatly increases. When that wisdom is self-aware, how can it be otherwise? First, relying on hearing, proper attention arises. Proper attention is the adverb "properly." From proper attention, wisdom arises that is the object of the meaning of reality, the true view that transcends the world. From that, its fruit, Dharma, is attained. If that attainment is present, then from that, the wisdom of liberation greatly increases. Thus, when that wisdom is self-aware, if it is not, how can it be determined that "this is not the Buddha's teaching"? Expressed in verses as not being a basis for fear: I do not know, the Buddha is profound, it is not what I can know. Why is it profound? Because it is not an object of speculation. Why is the meaning of the profound only understood by the wise? This should not be a place of fear. If I am afraid because I do not understand, that is not reasonable. Or, if the Buddha also did not comprehend the profound meaning, why would the Buddha teach the profound Dharma and be afraid? That is also not reasonable. Or, why is the profound Dharma not an object of speculation and therefore a place of fear? That is also not reasonable. Or, why is it that only those who understand the profound meaning can be liberated, and not speculators, and therefore be afraid? That is also not reasonable. Established by disbelief itself, expressed in verses: Believing in the inferior, and the mind is also very inferior, surrounded by inferior friends, the profound and vast, well-spoken Dharma, if there is no faith in this, it can be established. If someone believes in the inferior, then only the inferior mind associated with the alaya-consciousness can be truly established, just like the mind that only believes in inferior friends.
