Observing the aspect of ground and equality is during the seven limbs of enlightenment. Observing the aspect of certain attainment, observing the aspect of knowing the completely purified ground, observing the aspect of making others understand, observing the aspect of entering the precepts pleasing to the noble ones, observing the aspect of practicing frugality in conduct, observing the aspect of becoming accustomed to the path attained through previous meditation, observing the aspect of not forgetting the reason for abiding in the Dharma, observing the aspect of the place being completely transformed by the mind abiding in the signless, is during the time of the limb of the path. There is no explanation for the nature of the path in meditating on tranquility and insight. Considering the benefits is twofold: eliminating bad states and eliminating the signs of views. Receiving refers to receiving the essential instructions of the Dharma stream from the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. The application of joining has five aspects: the application of counting and closely examining the object of concentration, which is when one closely examines the number of names, words, and letters in the sutras, etc. The application of closely examining abiding is when one closely examines the two aspects of abiding: abiding with limit, which refers to letters, and abiding without limit, which refers to names and words. The application of closely examining complete examination is when one relies on the two and closely examines the complete examination of the two: relying on the complete examination of names to completely examine meanings, and relying on the complete examination of meanings to completely examine names. Letters are not to be completely examined. The application of closely examining sequence is when one closely examines the engagement of grasping meaning, which is preceded by grasping name. The application of realization should be understood as eleven aspects: realizing suddenness, realizing the reason for appearance, realizing the unobserved meaning, realizing the observed and unobserved, realizing the realm of Dharma, realizing the selflessness of persons, realizing the selflessness of phenomena, realizing inferior intention, and realizing vast and great self-mastery intention.

Understanding, and understanding the distinct establishment of the Dharma of how to understand, and understanding the distinct establishment of the Dharma. The mental activity of subduing has three aspects: the extreme purification of the obscuration of afflictions, the extreme purification of the obscuration of knowledge, and the extreme purification of the manifest accomplishment of qualities. Regarding the meaning of the Suchness of Dharma, there are two verses to seek. What is the basis of delusion that is always free from duality, and what is the nature that is always inexpressible and without elaboration? That alone is Suchness. What is to be known, what is to be abandoned, what is naturally stainless, and what is desired should all be purified. It is like space, gold, and water, desiring to be completely purified from afflictions. Suchness, always free from duality, is the nature of the completely imputed, because it is eternally unestablished in the characteristics of the grasped and the grasper. The basis of delusion is other-dependence, because it completely conceptualizes there. The nature that is inexpressible and without elaboration is the nature of the perfectly established. Among them, the first Suchness is to be completely known. The second is to be abandoned. The third is to be purified from adventitious stains, because its nature is pure. What is naturally pure is like space, gold, and water, completely purified from afflictions, space and so on are not naturally impure, nor is it said that they become pure by being free from adventitious stains. Among sentient beings, there is nothing else besides this, and all sentient beings are completely ignorant of this. Completely abandoning existence and clinging to non-existence, how can one understand this severe aspect of worldly ignorance? In the world, there is nothing else besides the nature of the Dharmadhatu, because the Dharma nature and Dharma are non-dual and inseparable. The rest is just understanding the meaning. There are fifteen verses that completely seek Suchness like an illusion. Like an illusion, false and unreal, is what is spoken of as completely imputed. Just as an illusion is created, so it is said that there is delusion in duality. The cause of delusion, such as trees and stumps, are illusions.
