It is enough. Merely by calming down, pride arises, and similarly, it is assumed to be unfamiliar. For the manifest one, there is negligence, because it is done with mindfulness. What arises from sound is little hearing, because the sutra of definitive meaning has not been heard. For the seeker, it is to consider that hearing alone is sufficient and to consider that little thought is sufficient. For the viewer, it is to consider that thinking alone is sufficient, and the pride of being proud of merely calming down. For the robbed and mixed, non-mixing is an interval. Not weary and likewise weary. Obstruction and non-diligence. Not accumulating collections is faith. Know that it is an interval. For the inferior, there is no weariness of samsara. For the vast, there is weariness. For the un-obscured, there is obscuration. For the diligent, there is non-diligence. For the accumulated, non-accumulation is an interval. The benefits of faith have five verses: great merit and no regret, mental happiness and great happiness, no waste and stability, likewise going to distinction, Dharma realization and self and other benefit attainment are supreme, quick manifestation, those are the benefits of faith. Birth and Tathagata birth are great merit. The past has no regrets, because there is no recollection. Holding and becoming the held is great mental happiness, because it has samadhi. What is born of a virtuous friend is not wasted. Self-nature faith is stable. Non-inverted and manifest and born from hearing, etc., to the middle, is going to distinction. The great is Dharma realization. The Hinayana is the attainment of self-benefit. The vast is the supreme attainment of other benefits. The benefits of the white side, such as un-obscured and diligent, are quick manifestation. The greedy one is like a dog, the samadhi one is like a turtle, the self-serving one is like a servant, the other-serving one is like a king. Just as a dog is always hungry and afflicted by suffering and does not know satisfaction, just as a turtle is completely submerged and dwells in water, just as a servant is always fearful and

The body moves with glory. Just as a king rules the country with his decree. Similarly, one should always distinguish and understand the various aspirations for lust, places, self and others, and altruistic activities. Those who are proficient in the supreme of the Great Vehicle should be steadfast in this and constantly strive to seek it. Furthermore, the aspirations of those with desires are like dogs. Those with worldly samadhi are like turtles. Those with self-interest are like servants. Those with the interest of others are like kings. After others have explained this meaning, they cause others to truly believe in the Mahayana. Verses to prevent discouragement in aspiration: Why do sentient beings become human beings? In immeasurable moments, they attain perfect enlightenment, therefore, one should not be discouraged or accept it. One should not be discouraged for three reasons: Thus, it can be obtained by becoming a human being, it can be obtained by being immeasurable, and it can be obtained by being constant. Regarding the difference in the merits of faith, there are two verses: Just as the merit of giving food to others increases, how those who do not eat it themselves, so is the Dharma of meaning. As it is said in the sutras, such as obtaining great merit, the Dharma of self-interest cannot be obtained from preaching. Thus, by giving food for the sake of others, merit increases. Thus, for the sake of self-interest, not eating oneself, thus, preaching the Mahayana Dharma that others rely on, as it is said in those Mahayana sutras, obtaining great merit, but not preaching the Dharma of the Hearer Vehicle that one relies on for self-interest. Verses summarizing the fruits of faith: Thus, the supreme Mahayana Dharma is vast and profound, and those with wisdom constantly increase great faith. Great merit continues uninterrupted and increases, and with immeasurable merits, oneself becomes great. Where, to whom, with what kind of faith, and what kind of fruit is obtained? In the vast Mahayana Dharma, those with wisdom, with faith,
