Abiding without wasting. Abiding from the place of supreme bliss of meditation, below that, one is born in the desire realm. Then, all the factors conducive to enlightenment are completely dedicated to samsara. With a mind free from all afflictions, beings are completely matured. Because one is born with deliberate thought, it is said to follow all afflictions. It is connected to the path of one vehicle, it is the path that is determined as the one without characteristics. The absence of characteristics is spontaneously accomplished, and the Buddha-field is also purified. Below that, the maturation of beings will be accomplished. Samadhi and forms, as well as the complete purification of enlightenment. With these distinctions, one can understand the nature of the grounds. The eleven abidings are the eleven grounds. Among the characteristics of these, the characteristic of the first ground is the direct realization of the supreme emptiness, because of the direct realization of the selflessness of persons and phenomena. The characteristic of the second is abiding in the non-wasting of actions, because of knowing the paths of virtuous and non-virtuous actions and their various fruits. The characteristic of the third is that Bodhisattvas abide in the supreme bliss of meditation, and are born in the desire realm without completely declining from those meditations. The characteristic of the fourth is that although one abides greatly in the factors conducive to enlightenment, one completely dedicates the factors conducive to enlightenment to samsara. The characteristic of the fifth is that one abides greatly in the four noble truths, therefore one's own mind is without all afflictions, and one is able to completely mature beings, because of making treatises and various crafts. The characteristic of the sixth is that one abides greatly in dependent origination, because one abides greatly, when one is born in existence with thought, there one follows and protects all afflictions. The characteristic of the seventh is that due to union and closeness, one abides in the path of one vehicle, and is connected to the eighth ground, it is the path that is determined as the one without characteristics. The characteristic of the eighth is that because of abiding in the non-conceptual activity without characteristics, the absence of characteristics is also spontaneously accomplished, and the Buddha-field is completely purified. The characteristic of the ninth is that due to being independent in individual perfect wisdom, the maturation of beings will be accomplished, because in all ways, beings are completely

because it is able to ripen. The tenth is that through the door of samadhi, the doors of dharani are completely purified. The eleventh is the characteristic of the Buddha-ground, which is that enlightenment is completely purified, because all obscurations of knowledge have been abandoned. Based on the distinction of individuals only on the grounds, two verses were composed: Bodhisattva's view is extremely pure, discipline is extremely pure and dwells in equanimity, in the Dharma, abandoning self, continuum and all afflictions, purity is distinct, without arrogance, obtaining wisdom in a single moment, purifying the fields, ripening sentient beings, wise, powerful, body complete, skilled in definitive speech, empowerment is given. In these ten grounds, ten bodhisattvas are established. In the first ground, because the wisdom that is the antidote to the view of individuals and dharmas is obtained, the view is extremely pure. In the second ground, because even the slightest fault of transgression is completely absent, the discipline is extremely pure. In the third ground, because irreversible samadhi and samadhi are obtained, it is dwelling in equanimity. In the fourth ground, because the arrogance of the difference of dharmas such as the sutra pitaka is abandoned, it is abandoning arrogance towards the Dharma. In the fifth ground, because the mind and intention are completely pure, with ten kinds of equality, all continuums enter into equality, so there is no arrogance towards the difference of continuums. In the sixth ground, because it dwells much in the suchness of dependent origination, it does not regard the suchness of the black and white sides as defiled and purified, so there is no arrogance towards the difference between defilement and purification, because it is naturally pure. In the seventh ground, by the power of dwelling without characteristics, in each moment, thirty-seven aspects conforming to enlightenment are meditated upon, so it is obtaining wisdom with a single moment. In the eighth ground, because it spontaneously abides in the signless, and because it is mixed with those who have entered the irreversible ground of the bodhisattva, it is close to the mixture, it is abandonment, and it purifies the Buddha-fields. In the ninth ground, it is the mind
