In order to attain (enlightenment). Understand with pure intention. Being skilled in the principles of other grounds. How to contemplate the way of establishing. In order to know that it is the nature of conceptualization. And also not to conceptualize that nature itself. One should know that this is renunciation. The first verse shows that the mind of enlightenment is the ultimate truth, through the differences of scripture, proof, and realization. The mind of enlightenment of the ultimate truth is vast and joyful, therefore it shows that that joy is the cause of excellence. That is, the equality of mind towards all phenomena is in order to realize the selflessness of all phenomena. The equality of mind towards sentient beings is in order to realize the equality of self and others. The equality of mind towards the actions of sentient beings is in order to wish to extinguish their suffering, which is like one's own suffering. The equality of mind towards the Buddha is in order to realize that his Dharmadhatu and self-nature are inseparable. For that mind of enlightenment of the ultimate truth, one should know that there are six aspects of the ultimate truth: arising, vastness, joy, purity of intention, skill in differentiation, and renunciation. Among them, arising is to be understood from the differences of seed, mother, womb, and wet nurse. Vastness is in order to manifest the ten great aspirations. Joy is in order not to be tired of long-term difficulties. Purity of intention is in order to know the approach to Bodhi, and to know its means. Skill in differentiation is being skilled in other grounds. Renunciation is contemplating as it is established. How to contemplate? Because one knows that the established ground is "this is merely conceptualization," and also does not conceptualize the nature of knowing that it is conceptualization. As an excellence of metaphors, there are six verses: Arising is the same as the earth. Others are like pure gold. Like the waxing moon. Others should be known as fire. Others should be known as a great treasure. Others are like a source of jewels. Others should be known as the ocean. Like a vajra, like Mount Sumeru. Like the king of medicine. Others should be known as a great friend. Like a wish-fulfilling jewel, and others.
