Because all forms of obstruction (to nirvana) have manifested, therefore the cessation of the body of the nature of mind has manifested. One should understand the transcendence of permanence through two causes. Because samsara is impermanent and does not deceive, therefore it does not fall into the extreme of annihilation; nirvana is permanent and does not increase, therefore it does not fall into the extreme of permanence. As it is said: "O Bhagavan, if one were to view conditioned phenomena as impermanent, then it would become a view of their annihilation, and that would become a view that is not their true nature. O Bhagavan, if one were to view nirvana as permanent, then it would become a view of its permanence, and that would become a view that is not its true nature." Just as it was said. Through this door of the principle of the dharmadhatu, it is actually said that samsara itself is nirvana, because without differentiating between the two, it manifests the non-abiding nirvana. Although that is so, through two causes, without difference, closeness and distance are related to all sentient beings, merely showing the attainment of the non-abiding state. What are those two causes? Here, the bodhisattva is not without difference close to all sentient beings, because with wisdom he has abandoned all the predispositions of craving. Nor is he distant, because with great compassion he has not completely abandoned them. This is the method for truly and completely attaining the non-abiding nature of enlightenment, because with wisdom the bodhisattva has abandoned all the predispositions of craving, therefore for the benefit of himself, having the intention of relying on nirvana, like a lineage that does not completely enter nirvana, he does not abide in samsara; with great compassion he has not completely abandoned suffering sentient beings, therefore for the benefit of others, having the conduct of relying on samsara, like a lineage of solitary pacified practitioners, he does not abide in nirvana. Therefore, these two dharmas are shown as the root place of unsurpassed enlightenment: with wisdom cutting off all self-grasping, because of craving for sentient beings, the loving one does not attain peace. Thus, relying on the means of wisdom and compassion for enlightenment, the noble one will not become samsara or nirvana. Regarding this, in terms of the previous aspect

So, what does the latter half of the verse, which is triggered by the meaning of karma, reveal? If the Buddha-nature did not exist, then there would be no weariness of suffering, and there would be no desire or pursuit of Nirvana. As it is said: O Blessed One, if the Tathagatagarbha did not exist, then there would be no weariness of suffering, and there would be no desire, aspiration, pursuit, or expectation of Nirvana. In short, the pure lineage of Buddha-nature causes two kinds of karma to manifest even in beings who are destined to be evil: one is to generate weariness based on seeing the faults of suffering in samsara, and the other is to generate aspiration, desire, pursuit, and expectation based on seeing the benefits of bliss in Nirvana. Among these, aspiration is manifest desire; desire is to turn towards obtaining the object of manifest desire; pursuit is to seek the means of obtaining the object of manifest desire; expectation is to have one's mind turn towards the object of manifest desire. Seeing the faults and benefits of suffering and bliss in samsara and Nirvana, this arises from having a lineage, because for those without a lineage, these do not exist. A person endowed with white virtues, seeing the faults of suffering in samsara and the benefits of bliss in Nirvana, this also arises from having a lineage, and is not without cause or condition. Why is that? If it were to become so without cause or condition, in a way that sins are not exhausted, then it would also become so for those who have wrong views and are of a lineage that can never be liberated from samsara. As long as one has not generated faith in any of the three dharmas in a way that the four wheels are perfectly complete, such as relying on a noble person with the adventitious stains purified, then there will be no change. Because after that, even the bodies of beings who are destined to fall, will be illuminated by the rays of wisdom of the Tathagata's sun-like mandala, and...
