When the Tathagata manifests perfect and complete enlightenment with perfect and complete awakening, and accomplishes the thirty-two activities of the Tathagata with the ten powers and other Buddha-dharmas, it should be understood that relying on the voice of others and relying on its purity are the causes for the arising of the Three Jewels. Thus, these three are the causes. From now on, it should be understood that the remaining scriptures will gradually and in detail explain these four aspects. Among them, regarding the establishment of the Thusness with defilements and the statement that all sentient beings possess the essence of the Tathagata, what is the meaning of this? It means that all beings constantly possess the essence of the Tathagata because the perfect Buddha-body radiates everywhere, because the nature of the Tathagata is inseparable, and because they possess the Buddha-nature. In short, the Blessed One said that all sentient beings constantly possess the essence of the Tathagata in three ways: because the wisdom of the Buddha enters the aggregates and realms of sentient beings, because their nature is without defilement and is non-dual (with the wisdom of the Buddha), and because the Buddha-nature regards that (wisdom of the Buddha) as its fruit, it is said that all beings possess the essence of the Buddha. In what sense will this meaning be shown without difference in all the sutras and tantras? It should be explained based on this. Thus, it is in the sense that the Dharmakaya of the Tathagata radiates to all sentient beings, in the sense that the Thusness of the Tathagata is without difference, and in the sense that they possess the Tathagata-nature. These three key points will also be explained below, following the *Tathagatagarbha Sutra*. Summary: Essence, cause, effect, action, possession, entry, stages, suchness, all-pervading meaning, constant, unchanging, qualities, inseparable, are said to be the intent of the ultimate realm. In short, it should be known that the realm of the Tathagata, the sacred object of that very wisdom, is established based on ten meanings. What are the ten meanings? They are the meaning of essence, the meaning of cause, the meaning of effect, the meaning of action, the meaning of possession, the meaning of entry, and the meaning of distinction by stages.

Nga. The meaning of being all-pervasive, the meaning of being immutable, and the meaning of being indivisible. From the meaning of its essence and the meaning of its cause, a verse is composed: Like precious jewels, the sky, and pure water, it is always free from afflictions by nature. Arising from the wisdom of supreme faith in the Dharma, and from samadhi and compassion. So, what does the first half of the verse indicate? Because of its power and immutability, and the nature of its moistness, these jewels, the sky, and the qualities of water are in accordance with the Dharma. These three have already been explained here before. For these three, in the order as they are, from their own characteristics and common characteristics, the Tathagatagarbha should be understood as being in accordance with the qualities of a wish-fulfilling jewel, the sky, and pure water. Among them, first, for the Dharmakaya of the Tathagata, from the nature of the power of fulfilling wishes, etc., and its own characteristics, it should be understood as being in accordance with a wish-fulfilling jewel in Dharma. For Suchness, from its own nature of not being different from other things, and its own characteristics, it should be understood as being in accordance with the sky in Dharma. For the Tathagata lineage, from its own nature of moistening sentient beings with compassion, and its own characteristics, it should be understood as being in accordance with water in Dharma. Here, everything should be understood as being in accordance with the qualities of a wish-fulfilling jewel, the sky, and pure water in Dharma, from the common characteristics of being constant, naturally pure, free from afflictions, and naturally completely pure. So, what does the second half of the verse indicate? Anger towards the Dharma, and the view of self, and fear of the suffering of samsara, and indifference to the benefit of sentient beings, the four obscurations of the extremely greedy heretics, Shravakas, and self-born ones, and the four Dharmas such as great faith in the cause of purification. In short, among sentient beings, there are these three types of sentient beings: those who desire existence, those who desire to be free from existence, and those who do not desire either of these two. Among them, desiring existence can be understood as two types: those who are opposed to the path of liberation, completely from nirvana...
