Because of that. Because it accords with the Dharma of possessing power, it possesses inconceivable meritorious power such as the six superknowledges. Because it accords with the Dharma of being the ornament of the world, it is the cause of virtuous thoughts for all beings. Because it accords with the Dharma of being the most excellent of precious offerings, it is transcendent of the world. Because it accords with the Dharma of not being transformed by praise and blame, etc., it is the nature of the unconditioned. Following the teaching of the Three Jewels, if there is anything that can be the place of birth for the purity of the mundane and supramundane, it is the place where the Three Jewels arise. In this regard, the verses are composed: The Tathāgatagarbha with defilements and without defilements, The treasury of the qualities of the stainless Buddha, the Victorious One, From which the three virtuous jewels arise, Is the very realm of those who see the ultimate meaning. What does this clarify? The nature of these three jewels Is the realm of all those who see. These four aspects, in order, Are inconceivable by the four causes. Among them, the Tathāgatagarbha with defilements refers to the element that has not yet been liberated from the sheath of afflictions, which is called the essence of the Thus-Gone One. The Tathāgatagarbha without defilements refers to the nature of that same element, which has been completely transformed into the state of Buddhahood, and is called the Dharmakāya of the Thus-Gone One. The qualities of the stainless Buddha refer to the nature of the transformed state, which is present in that same Dharmakāya of the Thus-Gone One, and includes the supramundane ten powers and other qualities of the Buddha. The deeds of the Victorious One refer to the unique, unsurpassed activities of that same Buddha's qualities, such as the ten powers, which are never destroyed, never cease, and are constantly maintained, so that the lineage of prophecies for Bodhisattvas is never interrupted. These four states are also inconceivable by the four causes, in the order in which they appear, and therefore they are said to be the realm of the omniscient wisdom. By what four causes are they known? Because they possess purity and afflictions, Because they are completely free from afflictions and pure, Because they are the Dharma without distinctions, Because they are spontaneously accomplished and non-conceptual.

Alas! The Tathāgatagarbha nature with defilements is both pure in an instant and simultaneously, and also all afflictions. This place is inconceivable, it is a realm that even Pratyekabuddhas who cherish the profound Dharma have not practiced. Because, goddess, these two dharmas are difficult to realize, namely, the mind's own nature is difficult to realize as pure, and the mind's own afflictions are difficult to realize. Goddess, those who listen to these two dharmas are you or Bodhisattvas who possess great Dharma. Goddess, the remaining Śrāvakas and Pratyekabuddhas can only realize these two dharmas through faith in the Tathāgata. Thus it is said. Moreover, the stainless Tathāgatagarbha, which was not previously defiled by impurities, but later became pure, therefore this place is inconceivable. Because the mind is naturally luminous, it is known as it is. Therefore, with the wisdom of a single moment, one attains complete enlightenment to unsurpassed perfect enlightenment and becomes a Buddha. Thus it is said. Furthermore, the stainless qualities of the Buddha, even on the ground of ordinary beings who are completely afflicted, there exists a nature of Dharma that is undifferentiated in form, without distinction between before and after, therefore this place is inconceivable. Because, there is no sentient being in the realm of sentient beings who has not been followed by all the Tathāgata's wisdom. However, due to the clinging of consciousness, the Tathāgata's wisdom does not appear. From being free from the clinging of consciousness, the self-arisen wisdom, the all-knowing wisdom, arises without obstruction. O son of the king, it is like this: for example, suppose there is a large silk cloth equal in size to the three thousand great thousand world realms, and on that large silk cloth, the three thousand great thousand world realms are completely depicted, for example, a large mountain range is depicted in the measure of a large mountain range, the great earth is depicted in the measure of the great earth, in the measure of two thousand worlds
