Possessing. If not well cultivated, the food used by people will not become delicious. Similarly, the Dharma's freedom possessed by sentient beings, if not liberated from the shell of afflictions, will become the cause of bestowing the taste of Dharma's joy to beings threatened by the hunger of afflictions. Just like the extremely precious gold of a person, falling into a filthy and rotten place, this indestructible Dharma nature is also like that. Residing there for hundreds of years, a deity with pure divine eyes sees it there and says to the person: This is the gold that is here, this king of jewels should be refined and accomplished with jewels. Thus, the Able One sees the qualities of sentient beings sinking into afflictions like impure things, and in order to purify that mud of afflictions, he sends down the rain of nectar Dharma for beings. Just as gold falling into a filthy and rotten place is seen by the deity, and in order to make it completely pure, the deity diligently shows it to people as an extremely beautiful thing. Thus, the Victor sees the precious complete enlightenment sinking into the great impurity of afflictions, and in order to purify those sentient beings, he proclaims the Dharma to sentient beings. Just like in the house of a poor person, there is an inexhaustible treasure underground, but that person does not know, and the treasure does not say to him: I am here. Thus, the treasure of jewels contained in the heart, the stainless basis and the inseparable Dharma nature, because they are not realized, these beings constantly experience various sufferings of poverty. Just as in the house of a poor person, a treasure of jewels is contained within, but it is not said to that person that there is a master of the treasure of jewels, because that person does not know. Thus, the Dharma

I, by the causes of wind, earth, time, and space, just as trees grow from the pods of Tala and mango fruits, sentient beings have the seeds and sprouts of Buddhahood within the fruit peel of afflictions. Likewise, good conditions increase, and from that, one sees the Dharma. Just as the image of the Victorious One made of precious jewels is covered by tattered clothes and foul odors, the road deity sees it, and for the sake of liberation, the road deity speaks this truth to it. The unobstructed wisdom eye possesses various forms, and the very essence of the Sugata, obscured by afflictions, also sees animals, and thus, for the sake of liberation, please reveal everything. Just as the Tathagata's body, the essence of precious jewels, is covered by clothes, the eye of the road deity sees it, and for the sake of liberation, speaks to people. Likewise, the realm dwelling on the path of samsara, covered by the tattered clothes of afflictions, also sees animals, and for the sake of liberation, the Victorious One teaches the Dharma. Just as an ugly, poor woman dwells in a place without protectors, but her womb holds the glory of a king, just as she does not know that there is a lord of men in her own belly. Birth in existence is like a house without protectors, like a woman with a womb containing impure beings. Who does she have that she has a protector? The stainless realm is like her womb. Just as a woman's body is defiled, her clothes are disheveled, and her appearance is ugly, even though the lord of the earth dwells in her womb, she experiences great suffering in a house without protectors. Likewise, although the self dwells within and has a protector, it is like a wise person without a protector, beings are controlled by afflictions, their minds are not pacified, and therefore they dwell at the root of suffering. Just as the form of molten gold inside grows, and the outside is the nature of earth, having seen it, those who know it purify the gold inside, and remove the outer impurities. Those who are naturally luminous and stainless also suddenly see various things, and beings like the place where jewels change, purify themselves from defilements, which is supreme enlightenment. Just as a form made of stainless gold fire is submerged in the earth, the wise, knowing its peaceful nature, remove the earth. Likewise, the all-knowing, pure, like gold, knowing the peaceful mind, by speaking
