Sa! What is inferior, the other is superior. Those who dwell by the abode of Brahma, the wise always give rise to desire. They perfect all assemblies and mature all sentient beings. Always inseparable from Brahma, free from its opposing aspects. Even if negligent, it is not changed by its cause, nor by unpleasantness. Bodhisattvas with harmful intent, various kinds of harm, displeasure, harmful intent, and those with attachment to desire, encounter many kinds of faults. Afflictions destroy oneself, destroy sentient beings, and destroy morality. With decline, inferior due to gain, protected and similarly blamed by the teacher. With disputes, unpleasant, they are born in other places where there is no leisure. Having obtained and not obtained, great suffering arises in the mind due to decline. All these faults do not arise in those who dwell well in love and so on. Those who are not afflicted do not abandon samsara for the sake of sentient beings. How do the sons of the Victorious Ones give rise to thoughts such as love towards sentient beings? It is not the same even for a single son who possesses all the qualities of all sentient beings. Subdued by a blazing enemy, oppressed by suffering, obscured by darkness, always entering a difficult path, fully endowed with great bonds. Attached to food mixed with great poison, the path is completely lost, entering a wrong path, compassion for sentient beings with little strength. Abandoning harm is the seed of supreme enlightenment, the cause of desire that generates happiness and suffering, the essence is giving, relying on the Dharma, enlightenment is not far for the sons of the Victorious Ones. Compassion is supreme wisdom, belonging to samsara, the nature of suffering, all and without self, having understood this, one does not become weary, nor is one harmed by faults. Seeing the nature of suffering in the world, those with compassion know the means to completely abandon that suffering as it is, without causing fear or becoming weary. This love of those who are compassionate by nature, nature and individual examination, and having been accustomed to it before, and possessing it, and the four qualities of diminishing opposing aspects and obtaining purity. Not equal, not constant, not with superior intention, not the door of accomplishment, not without attachment, not without object, whatever that is not love, thus

Supreme enlightenment is not the other shore. Compassion, patience, and intention, aspiration, and rebirth fully ripen all sentient beings. The beginning is the root, the end possesses the supreme fruit. This is the great tree of compassion. If the root of compassion is absent, asceticism and patience will not arise. If the wise cannot endure suffering, the thought of benefiting sentient beings will not arise. Wisdom devoid of intention will not plant aspirations in a pure and immaculate rebirth. If a good rebirth is not obtained, one will not be able to fully ripen all sentient beings. The essence of compassion is loving-kindness. In suffering, it finds happiness. By properly contemplating the Buddha's teachings, branches grow vast and wide, and the stream of aspirations is never cut off. Abandoning and accepting are the two conditions. Therefore, one should know that flowers and fruits are meaningful. Great compassion is the source of qualities. Who would not have compassion for sentient beings? Thus, even though these beings have suffering, immeasurable happiness arises from love. Those who possess love, embraced by compassion, do not even dwell in peace. What need is there to mention attachment to worldly pleasures and one's own life? That loving-kindness is faultless, without worldly or transcendental existence. The loving-kindness born of love in the wise is faultless and transcends the world. In the great and unbearable ocean of suffering, in the deep darkness of ignorance, the means of guiding the world that serves as a support, how can it be said to be without fault? If the Buddhas and Pratyekabuddhas of the world do not have that loving-kindness, what need is there to mention others? How can it be said to be not transcendent? Bodhisattvas have no suffering, but they experience suffering through love. At first, everyone is afraid of it, but after touching it, they are extremely happy. The suffering born of love surpasses all worldly happiness, and whatever is done cannot be compared to it. What could be more wonderful than that? The joy of giving born of giving with steadfast love cannot be compared to the happiness enjoyed by those who closely associate with the three realms. For the sake of sentient beings, enduring the suffering of compassion with
